[libreoffice-website] [Bug 55796] New: Ask users to contribute while they are running their download

2012-10-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=55796

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 55796
CC: website@global.libreoffice.org
  Assignee: libreoffice-b...@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Ask users to contribute while they are running their
download
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: bjoern.michael...@canonical.com
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: unspecified
 Component: WWW
   Product: LibreOffice

While users are downloading LibreOffice is a excellent point in time to make
appear with some JavaScript an invitation to contribute. Since we are
approaching a very broad audience there the suggested task should be limited
(no more than 4) and very simple to not overwhelm the user.

Initial proposal:
While you are downloading, have you considered:
- Donating to TDF
- Verifying bugfixes and features in our upcoming release
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=50100
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=53675
- Promoting LibreOffice (link to marketing team mailing list or wiki, maybe?)
- Confirm a reported bugs https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=53559

This is just an intial proposal, if you what to discuss the layout and content
of such an invite, creating a wikipage for it is likely best (keep it simple
though, esp. if you are not the one who will implement it!)

[libreoffice-website] Download page: warning text script logic

2012-10-09 Thread Olivier Hallot
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

Hi

The DL page was tweaked to let us warn users on dot-zero releases and
dot-N releases.

I filled the dot-N space with some text and images, and it worked OK
with 3.6.1

But they vanished in 3.6.2. at least for pt-BR. Can we put the dot-N
text back, for N>1?

Thanks

Closed it as it handles
http://portableapps.com/de/apps/office/libreoffice_portable
which is not in our hands.

This bugreport is quite confusing as it
handles several bugs:
1. 3.5.x not available
2. spanish site outdated (not portable)
3. German site offer 1. = bug?
4. French site offer 1. = bug?
5. international site not mentioned at all

What to fix here?? :o))

2012-10-09 Thread Jonathan Aquilina
Hey guys I have a question in regards to the portable format. Is the format
based on the portable apps format? Also is it possible to put on the
download page something about the portable version to maybe increase
awareness about it?

Re: [libreoffice-website] improving our donation button

and I'd like to hear your opinion. My take is to focus on simplicity, to
encourage people to donate, but maybe my approach is wrong.

Ok,
I made some first proposals for this:
http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/User:K-j/Drafts/Design#Buttons
The small button can be used on external pages, social web or so.

I don't know if the chosen sizes are ok or even if the third button can
be used in a technical and useful way. Some experiences especially with
the radiobuttons?

Maybe we can wait with the discussion until LibOConf 2012 in Berlin.
Florian has to do many things before that.

Welcome on board :)

We've setup your subsite, login at https://uk.libreoffice.org/admin/
with subsite admin permissions.
Two more roles are available for further team members, publisher and author.

> Please, explain, how can I make that?

We do not use the built in translation feature of silverstripe (except
for the donation pages) so it looks easiest to me just to grab the
source code of pages from other sites, translate it and paste it into
new pages at your subsite.

Please build the basic structure like the main site to make it easy for
visitors. You got author permissions for the main site too, so you may
take a closer look at the respective page configurations.

For most pages the page-type 'Page' will do, others like widget- or
download-page are quite self explaining once you know they are there.
Page type may also be changed later on.

Brief intros to silverstripe handling are available at the 'Help' tab on
the admin-panel and more information at http://website.libreoffice.org.

Ask your questions here at the website list, there are always
experienced helpers around.

Cheers
Erich

One is dated Oct 2nd and the other line does not have a date listed.

I have not checked that page since the end of September, so I do not
know if they were available. Five chapters have been "updated" since the
beginning of the month.

The line shows a proper file name when you do a "mouse-over" but you do
not get the file, just an index.php file in the browser when you click
[or right click] on the link.

RED indicates "file not found" or something like that - correct?

The "ODT" file is there but the "PDF" file is not [red text color]

Organization Charts, Flow Diagrams ODT or PDF 11pg 2 Oct 12
and More.

Both of the files are not there [red text color] and no date listed like
the other lines/chapters.

Adding and Formatting Text. — ODT or PDF

Has anyone tried the audio?
It sounds like Orkian or even Chewbacca speech. Or is this only a
problem on my computer?

I don't understand something.
