[libreoffice-website] Silverstripe folder permissions (?)
Hi In silverstripe, I created a folder and an image like this: assets/Uploads/PT-BR_imagens/startcenter.PNG However, no matter how I insert the image in the text it does not show in the final page. I suspect there is a permission issue in the folder or file. Have I missed something? Have language as category and modules as sub-category, if the above cannot be implemented Both just don't sound right, and the only benefit would be to only have a single database... Can we have one DBMS with many (per NL) databases? But it would make the "show recent/active posts" useless for a majority of the users, as German users don't care about that a new article was posted in the English or French forums... Right. So better to create separate forums? Even have a mix of forum software? Let NL-project foo use phpBB, and have NL-project bar use JForum? I am not in a position to choose between the two. I am more concerned on the moderation workload. For me the lower workload, the best. But that will be may approach: NL-project forums. Argh - instead of answering questions, the call did bring a much bigger one ;-) I call that "management". :-) But at least askbot is settled :-) right. Hi I have been trying some of the SS pages to figure what they are designed for, but I miss a couple of lines on a better description... Can someone point me to the meaning of "JS page", and "virtual page"? Also, I was looking into http://www.shareaholic.com to add some of these social network buttons... but I failed miserably to add their script in a page... We had to change our landing page (http://pt-br.libreoffice.org/) with large buttons to let visitors access the beef right on 1 click. The top menu is of poor readability and organization, no matter how we tweak it. We would like to have a landing page that looks like our local blog (http://libreofficebrasil.blogspot.com.br/) with the buttons on a side bar. I know there is a blog sub-system but still we don't want to loose our short-cut buttons. We also have a large blank space in the lateral background, that we should fill with a TDF/LO watermark. White space send an idea of emptyness. For example, I am one of the pt-BR admins and I think the whole Silverstripe template should be trashed and replaced with a more effective template. But I am no webmaster nor silverstripe template and graphical designer expert. I just want a welcome portal where I can post news related to LibreOffice and OSS, and have shortcuts to get to the most important pages for the Brazilians. A 3 columns drupal/joomla standard template comes to my mind, with better use of the screen real state as a starting point, but it is just a guess. My experience as moderator for AB4LO in pt-BR is less than 5 minutes /day, and the rate of new questions is about 2 new question/days and 2 new answers/day. Most of the job is to edit the question and put in a format of a question seeking answers. I also narrow the tags for a better search. Almost no spam so far. Some answers had to be demoted to comment and some comments had to be promoted to answer. The kind of questions asked has a good indication on the difficulties users have with LO and tells a lot about the user and the community.
