[libreoffice-website] Extension website doesn't show amount of downloads

2015-12-20 Thread X Roemer

Hi,

I'm developing an extension for OO and LO and I'm not really happy about
two subjects on the extension site of LO:

1) The extension site doesn't show or count the downloads of an
extension. (And therefore extensions can't be sorted by download rates.)
2) The release mechanism is quite complicated and needs too much time
(minor complain).

About 1):
As a developer I would like to know, how often my extension is
downloaded. Or if it's downloaded at all. Besides rarely user comments
it's the main feedback I might get for my work. No feedback is
disappointing.

Does anyone know, if this feature is planned for the near future?

About 2):
Compared to OO's extension site, LO's site has a far too complicated
mechanism to release an extension (for my taste). Is there a reason for it?
I don't want to spend 30 minutes on an update - but that might be also a
matter of doing it more often.

Both points made me hosting my extension on OO's site only, and to put a
link to it on LO's site instead of a real download.

http://extensions.openoffice.org/en/project/organon

But as LO develops much faster as OO and I'm quite happy to hear about
the changes on PyUno and the sidebar api, I think, my further
development might concentrate on LO. So it would really be great, if
there will happen something about 1).

For the rest: I really like how LO develops!

Greetings,
Xaver

that's something on the list for further development, once the new
LibreOffice extensions and templates site is online.
The add-ons, which the new website will be created on, are open source
and could be enhanced. It will be possible to add new features, but it
needs someone doing that.

Maybe you want to apply for an account on the new LibreOffice extensions
and templates website and give some feedback. That would help to make
the site even more better.

Would be great, if you would take a look at the new test website and
give some feedback.

Hi Andreas,

please republish the release once you have made changes (e.g. added the
compatibility for LibreOffice 4.0) and the warning should be gone.

If that doesn't help please ping me directly and send me the link to the
release / project.

Noticed the same for CT2N: I added compatibility for LibreOffice 4.0,
but the warning is still there.
Could it be done so, that setting the compatibility makes that the
warning is not shown?

thanks,
Cor

that's not posible with the current add-on. But it's very easy - only
one more click - and everything is fine. I used re-release from the
green menu bar (State: ...).

Cheers,

Ah, cool. Something I should be able to do too (and hopefully remember
as well ;-) )

[libreoffice-website] [Extension website] How to remove no release over 1 year warning

2013-03-13 Thread Laurent BP
Hello,

Some extension works fine and do not need any update, like Galery Them or
Dictionnary.
How to remove the red alarming warning This product has not had a release
in over 1 year and may no longer be maintained.
I do my best to maintain some extension, and they may not require any new
release. Adding a new release withe same files would be a non-sense for me.
I tried to update description, add new version compatibility, but the
warning remains :(

Thanks for your help.

[libreoffice-website] Extension website

2011-09-12 Thread leif

Hi all,
First of all a great thanks for all the work you have done to get the
sites up and running.

I have a few comment though.

Bug:
When I upload the downloadable file I'm asked for a description.
According to the field label this should be a description, but it seems
that this field actually becomes the file name.

Missing:
I have uploaded two extensions but I can't find any way to get an
overview of my own extensions. The only way to edit or submit an upgrade
seems to be finding it through the common interface. An overview of my
extensions and releases would be nice.

Comment:
I find the structure a little confusing. First I must create the
extension, then the release, and then the downloadable file. The file
must then be released. Finally I must go back to the extension and
submit it for review. My comment is that it's too complicated. Many
information (extension, release and file) are the same and some could
actually be extracted from the description.xml inside the oxt file.

In releases I have two sections: Experimental and Stable. I don't
have any experimental releases, but how can I remove that section?

One of my extensions has been translated into 22 languages. I can only
select one language or language neutral. I'll suggest that the language
field becomes multi-select.

Just my two cent.

Cheers,

Please have a look on

if your comment is already there.

Have you looked at the dashboard (you get there over the menu in the right top
of the
site (with your name on it)? Does that helps?

The correct way should be: create a new project and submit it for review. Since
it is
approved / published you can go ahead and create releases and upload
downloadable
files.

In releases I have two sections: Experimental and Stable. I don't
have any experimental releases, but how can I remove that section?

The two sections are by default in the release section. If there is no
experimental
release than there will nothing shown.

One of my extensions has been translated into 22 languages. I can only
select one language or language neutral. I'll suggest that the language
 field becomes multi-select.

Currently you have to select for every page (project, release, downloadable
file)
language neutral, otherwise the extension will only shown (in the list of
available
projects and releases) if your language setting is English. This is an issue in
combination with LinguaPlone. I had to file a bugreport for that project.

Cheers,
Andreas
