Hi,

thanks for the minutes!

refactoring of the mail system is very much welcome - order of
priorities for me would be the internal smarthost and getting the two
missing legacy boxes migrated first, and only then work on the mail
refactoring. I'd love to join the efforts, also have a couple of items
on the list - but gimli and gandalf IMHO have a higher priority.

+ will deploy on a dedicated root server with SSDs at manitu
  - AI guilhem (floeff?): need to order the box

Still waiting for Dwayne's numbers for price comparison, will poke him
again.

[libreoffice-website] Minutes from the Tue Jun 20 infra call

2017-06-20 Thread Guilhem Moulin
Participants
  1. guilhem
  2. cloph
  3. Brett

Agenda
 * General news:
+ TDF & LO websites migrated to a fresh Debian 8 VM on our infra
+ rebooted hypers and VMs to load latest kernel & libc since the upgrade to
8.8
  - need to start over though: CVE-2017-0605, CVE-2017-1000364
 * Salt refactoring
   + Proposal: Merge github salt project into the gitlab project and delete
 gitlab's submodules
 - cloph doesn't mind, guilhem agrees
   + What OSes/versions are to be supported?
 - public services are running Debian (Jessie atm) so it makes sense to
   target that
 - we also have CentOS for tinderboxes
   + Gitlab+Docker CI testing goals:
 - Proposal: Add the gitlab runner user to the 'docker' group so sudo
   doesn't need to be invoked.
 - Brett will work on getting CI working again - will need access to
   relevant servers.
 * Debian 9 (codename Stretch) was released on June 17, 2017 \o/
   + New baseline for future VMs (test the core stalt states first)
   + 4 machines currently running Debian 7 (codename Wheezy, under LTS until
 May 31, 2018):
 - vm150 (bugzilla, to be upgraded/migrated)
 - vm164 (officeshots)
 - vm147 (moztrap, deprecated)
 - galaxy (root server, deprecated)
   + Other Debian machines are running Jessie, oldstable until June 2018, then
 LTS until April 2020
 * Pending refactoring of the default mail config
   rdm#2256 https://redmine.documentfoundation.org/issues/2256
   + AI guilhem: ask floeff if we have green light on this
 * cloph's currently reshaping the large raid10 array on berta into 10x 2-disks
   raid 1 to avoid super long md checks
   + canceled actually, syncing data without loosing georep takes forever
 * pootle:
   + will deploy on a dedicated root server with SSDs at manitu
 - AI guilhem (floeff?): need to order the box
   + to compare perfs with upstream's AWS setup
   + then hopefully to be the prod instance
 * LDAP:
   + polishing the schema on vm181, hope to deploy it to testlink this month
 (prod service but relatively new, so limited impact if we have to modify
 the schema on the fly)
   + IANA assigned PEN 50027
 * gustl:
   + RX FCS counter is still going wild every now and then, still unsure what
 is going on
   + manitu changed cable and switchport, need to agree on a time to change
 router port (can a pb with our NIC)
 * Next meeting: July 18, 16:30 UTC
