Board meeting tomorrow

2010-05-05 Thread Mike McGrath
There's a public board meeting tomorrow that the websites team is welcome
to come to. I talked with sijis who can make it already but everyone on
the team is invited. It is tomorrow (Thursday) at 12:00 pm Eastern time.
in #fedora-board-meeting

Why is the websites team invited? We're trying to meet with more
individual groups to see how things are going, what they're working on and
what the board can better do to serve each team. I volunteered you guys
first :)

I look at the files and we've somehow missed making that text

We could add it but it will definitely break the current string freeze
 in effect.

The impact to the user experience on our site in having the new design
available I think is worth breaking string freeze. The get Fedora pae is
one of the most complained-about pages on our website and the redesign
goes a long way to address the issues users have been complaining about
for so long.

What do the translators think?

I'm seeing an issue with the tabs and content spacing on these spins
pages - it's not on the other spins pages - I haven't dived into what
the cause might be yet since I don't have Firebug installed ATM but I'm
looking into it now.

If I find a fix can we make it?

Sijis found the issue! Apparently whitespace in the content files was
causing it. He is going through now and adjusting them.

 Hi,

Every time I access the Fedora Project website
 (http://fedoraproject.org/), I
am greeted with the pt_BR version of it. In my Firefox I've got defined
 the
languages pt, en. So, I'm thinking that if the site ignores my language
preferences, I should have received the English version, if not, and the
pt is not an option, I should receive the English version as well, and
 not the Brazilian.

Firefox doesn't have a pt-PT version of this string. The available
options are pt for Portuguese and pt-br for Brasilean. So I tested it
 with the German language.

I've tried both: de and de_CH. When I choose de as preferred
 language in
Firefox, I get the de page. When I choose de_CH I get the de_CH
 page.

So, why doesn't this works exactly like this for pt?

 = reason =

 I don't know.

 = recommendation =

Please make this work for pt_PT page like the de_CH.
