[weewx-user] Re: Belchertown skin for weewx now available!

2018-10-10 Thread dhindley
Addendum

I have managed to get the graphs to work (manully, hence won't be updated)
by simply copying over the day.json etc. files from \belchertown\json to
\json on the web host file system, so it seems like this problem can be
solved by ensuring that the json files are uploaded by sftp to \json rather
than \belchertown\json. Any idea how I do that, please?

Thanks

David.

[weewx-user] Re: Belchertown skin for weewx now available!

2018-10-10 Thread dhindley
I previously posted here various issues I had with weewx and the excellent
Belchertown skin. I have solved some of these - for example I have been
able to use SFTP to upload to my hosted website, as the host has stopped
allowing plain FTP. However, I just can't get the graphs to work, which I
had posted about previously. I have even bought a new Raspberry Pi, as mine
was quite old and I wanted to eliminate that source. So, I have a fresh
install of weewx and the Belchertown skin, but the graphs are just not
displaying. The public site has changed from my previous post and is now
www.ashteadweather.com.

The latest syslog is below.

The website is under the root in ashteadweather.com. I can see in the file
structure that \json only has two json files (dark-sky... and
weewx-data.json) whereas \belchertown\json has more json files (e.g.
day.json, week.json etc.). Is this the source of the issue perhaps, and if
so, how do I get the required json files into \json?

Any help would be much appreciated, as I am really struggling to work out
what is going on here, and am very keen for the graphs to be displayed.

Thanks

David.

[weewx-user] Re: WeeWX Docker Image Available

2018-10-10 Thread Justin Bennett
So I found your docker container as an option to install on my sinology
DS918. As part of the launching of the container, I must specify a volume
to mount the container.

Would you have any idea what the name of the volume should be?

Yep, this is not right:

SyntaxError: unexpected token: ':' theme.js:1:11
SyntaxError: unexpected token: ':' averages.js:1:11

Have a look at averages.js on your web server, is it the same as
skins/HighchartsAverages/scripts/averages.js on your WeeWX machine and is
that the same as averages.js in the GitHub repo
?

The error indicates a problem on lien 1 position 11 but my my reckoning
that is a comment.

[weewx-user] Re: Belchertown skin for weewx now available!

2018-10-10 Thread G Hammer
I had the same problem with test.mosquitto.org and finally gave up and
installed my own broker. All is working well now, and the updates are
somewhat more timely as well.

[weewx-user] Re: weewx-averages extension

2018-10-10 Thread gjr80
You need averages.html, averages.json, averages.js and theme.js. Just
because nothing is displaying on the page does not mean something is
missing, as I said it is more likely that the browser cannot find one or
more of the files. The browser console will possibly tell what that is.

probably an issue from broker end.

[weewx-user] Re: weewx-averages extension

2018-10-10 Thread gjr80
Ok, in that case I will need to talk you through some fault finding.

Chances are if your json data file is being generated your problem is
likely a file not being found by the browser. What you need to do is open
up your browsers web console. How you do this is dependent on the browser
you are using. I use firefox and it is located under the hamburger menu,
Web Developer, Browser Console. For Chrome it is under More tools,
Developer tools. Once you have the browser console open you want to look at
the javascript log (its separate in firefox). Then you need to reload the
averages page and look through the browser console entries to see if any
errors come up that relate to the averages page, the json file or
highcharts. If there is nothing in the javascript log have a look at any of
the other log panels. If you see any relevant errors take note of what they
say and post some details back here.

free DarkSky API key required)
- Information on your closest Earthquake updated automatically
every 3 hours
- Weather station observation graphs which update without needing

[weewx-user] Re: Belchertown skin for weewx now available!

2018-10-10 Thread Thomas Sch
Hey I saw you had the same issue with the F-Units on the temperature-graph
at the beginning. How did you fixed it? Can you send your config files?

2018-10-10 Thread gjr80
Hi,

Could be any of a number of causes. Is the page visible publicly?

[weewx-user] weewx-averages extension

2018-10-10 Thread Phil Owers
Hi Guys
Downloaded the weewx-averages extension a few days ago but cant get
anything on the averages.html
I changed the report_timing to @daily to get it started and appears that
the averages.json file has data in it

[{
"_version": "averages.json.tmpl version 0.5.0",
"temperatureplot": {"series":
{"outTempMeanMinMax": {"name": "Temperature", "data": [[3.0, 7.2], [3.1,
7.4], [4.0, 9.9], [6.2, 13.1], [9.0, 16.1], [11.9, 19.1], [14.1, 21.5],
[14.1, 21.2], [12.1, 18.6], [10.2, 15.2], [6.4, 10.7], [4.4, 8.5]]},
"outTempMean": {"name": "Mean Temperature", "data": [5.1, 5.2, 7.0, 9.6,
12.6, 15.5, 17.8, 17.6, 15.4, 12.7, 8.6, 6.5]},
"outTempMax": {"name": "Maximum Temperature", "data": [15.2, 17.6, 21.8,
28.3, 28.8, 32.3, 34.1, 30.9, 30.3, 28.2, 17.6, 15.6]},
"outTempMin": {"name": "Minimum Temperature", "data": [-7.9, -5.4, -6.1,
-0.3, -1.5, 5.1, 9.2, 8.1, 5.3, 2.8, -0.1, -5.9]}},
"yAxisLabel": {"text":  "(\u00B0 C)"
},
"yAxisUnits": {"text":  "\u00B0 C"
}},
"rainplot": {"series":
{"rainAvg": {"name": "Rain", "data": [54.6, 46.0, 43.0, 36.5, 48.3, 42.4,
44.4, 52.2, 42.9, 62.1, 65.3, 55.1]}},
"yAxisLabel": {"text":  "(mm)"
},
"yAxisUnits": {"text":  "mm"
}},
"generated": "10 October 2018 00:00"
}]

but the averages.html is blank

The averages.json file is in the HTML_ROOT/Jason folder and the
averages.html is in HTMT_ROOT folder

The [[HighChartsAverages]] section in the weewx.conf is

[[HighchartsAverages]]
report_timing = @daily
skin = HighchartsAverages
[[[Units]]]
StringFormats
inch = %.2f
mm = %.1f
degree_F = %.1f
cm = %.2f
degree_C = %.1f
TimeFormats
current = %-d %B %Y %H:%M
Groups
group_temperature = degree_C
group_rain = mm
[[[CopyGenerator]]]
copy_once = scripts/averages.js, scripts/theme.js, averages.html
[[[Generators]]]
generator_list = weewx.cheetahgenerator.CheetahGenerator,
weewx.reportengine.CopyGe$

I loaded the extension using wee_extension --install=

Weewx is version 3.8.2 and I have data in the sdb file back to 2010

Am I being in to much of a rush or have I missed something
Any help would be most welcome
Thanks in advance
Phil
