Patrick,
I’m not sure what is happening. I downloaded the file it compares to the one I
am running. I’ll do some more digging tomorrow. I’m not expecting any
different results, but you could try downloading from the master branch in git.

Re: [weewx-user] w34 skin issues

2019-06-24 Thread steeple ian
Sean,

Make sure you have your paths set correctly in your w34skin skin.conf file.

Looking at your weewx.conf file it appears you have missed this section in the
installation guide: -

To enable WeeWX to communicate with the weather34 dashboard template, you must
install the CRT plugin, (stands for Cumulus Real Time). Please follow the
detailed instructions at https://github.com/weewx/weewx/wiki/crt
. After installation edit the
weewx-conf file. Go to the [CumulusRealTime] which will likely be near the end
of the script. Change this section to reflect the following: -

  [CumulusRealTime]
filename = /var/www/html/weewx/realtime.txt
unit_system = METRIC
If your path to your web root is different, please amend the path in front of
'weewx/realtime.txt' accordingly.

VERY IMPORTANT. It is crucial that the '[CumulusRealTime]' unit_system is set
to METRIC as in the snippet above. If US or METRICWX setting is used, the
resulting display will be un-predictable and even nonsensical!

Finally go to the '[StdReport]' section and add this: -

  [[w34skinReport]]
# The w34skinReport uses the 'w34skin' skin, which contains the
# templates for the WX-HWS charts.
skin = w34skin
enable = true

[[[Units]]]
# The following section sets the units for w34skin.
# IMPORTANT do not change in any circumstance.

Groups
group_altitude = meter
group_degree_day = degree_C_day
group_pressure = hPa
group_rain = mm
group_rainrate = mm_per_hour
group_speed = km_per_hour
group_speed2 = km_per_hour2
group_temperature = degree_C
mbar = "mb"
hPa = "hPa"
inHg = "in"
mm_per_hour = "mm"
cm_per_hour = "cm"
inch_per_hour = "in"
km_per_hour = "km/h"
knot = "kts"
meter_per_second ="m/s"
mile_per_hour ="mph"
Once completed, make sure you save weewx.conf

Re: [weewx-user] WeeWx sometimes fails to start on reboot

2019-06-24 Thread Thomas Keffer
You could try the loop_on_init flag. (Look here
 for documentation, last item
under "General" heading). This won't fix anything, but it will cause WeeWX
to keep trying, rather than exiting.

Ok I see you have installed the latest version. You are still not generating
the .csv files for the charts or the w34stats.php for the live data variables.
Can you post the contents of your weewx.conf file please (make sure that you
remove any passwords or sensitive information first).

quickest way is to rename you existing folder. Do a full install (note new
expanded instructions) then copy across any settings or archive data that
you wish to keep. Remember it is important to set your permissions as per

[weewx-user] Re: BloomSky traceback after IndexError

Thanks for the background. I might do some testing with my BloomSky and
take it offline, I must admit I did not do that test when I wrote the
driver. Unfortunately, that won't be possible for a few months. Should not
matter though as the updated driver you have now should catch the error, do
keep an eye on your logs and let me know if the driver causes WeeWX to fail
again.

[weewx-user] WeeWx sometimes fails to start on reboot

2019-06-24 Thread Kev D
Hi all,

I was doing some searching on this but not sure the best way to proceed.
The current issue is upon reboot of my Ubuntu server, sometimes WeeWX will
not start with this error in the logs.

Jun 24 02:00:58 osboxes weewx[791]: import of driver failed: enp0s3: That
device is not up ()
Jun 24 02:00:58 osboxes weewx[791]: engine: Unable to load driver: enp0s3:
That device is not up
Jun 24 02:00:58 osboxes weewx[791]:   Exiting...

This is easily resolved by just restarting WeeWx, but if I don't catch this
then it will not capture any data. The best solution I found in searching
was to add a delay in the "/etc/init.d/weewx" script to wait for these
interfaces to be active. Do you think this would be alright and if so do
you know where I should place this in the file? Or is there another way to
deal with this issue?

Thanks in advance!

Kev

[weewx-user] Display Rainfall

2019-06-24 Thread gjr80
Hi,

It’s not clear to me what that plot shows, it says cumulative; is it rainfall
in the last hour? It’s not rainfall this day.

Since v3.9.0 WeeWX has been able to plot cumulative data; however, as far as I
know the accumulation only starts at the earliest time of the plot and
continues over the entire plot. So for a Standard WeeWX ‘day’ plot the
accumulation starts 27 odd hours before the current time and the data is
accumulated over the entire 27 hours. Not quite what you want.

Thinking outside the box you could create a similar plot by creating a custom
field in your archive and saving your cumulated data in that field. You could
then use the WeeWX plot capabilities in the normal (non-cumulative) manner to
plot that custom field.
