[weewx-user] FTP Issue

2018-01-07 Thread Dave Walker
I have a successful Weewx install running on a PC.

Weewx is reading data from my VantagePro, and I can see the current
information both at:

///var/www/html/weewx and at http://localhost/weewx

I have an FTP account at ftp.RFL.com which is successfully showing the data
collected by an another, alternate VantagePro under the directory
/AirportWx. Link:
http://ericksonfc.ca/AirportWX/

The weewx station is supposed to be using the directory /TownWX at the same
server.

I edited the file /etc/weewx/weewx.conf (using sudo) to enable the FTP
process as noted in weewx.conf, but when I examine the log sudo tail -f
/var/log/syslog

I see the message (truncated here):
Running report FTP
Found config file /etc/weewx/skins/FTP/skin.conf
FTP upload not requested. Skipped

I installed weewx using the http://www.weewx.com/docs/debian.htm method.

I have attached the output of wee_debug -- info.

I can navigate and log onto my FTP account at ftp.R4L.com using Filezilla,
but the directory at http://ericksonfc.ca/TownWX remains empty.

One question that I have is - should the line in the FTP portion of
weewx.conf that looks like:

# HTML_ROOT = /var/www/html/weewx be uncommented?

I suspect that somewhere I have missed something basic.

Any thoughts??

Dave W.

[weewx-user] Skin Resembling Wview

2017-11-28 Thread Dave Walker
I now have a Weewx simulator running on a PC under Lubuntu, with intention
to move to a Pi in the future.

I have developed an appreciation for the Wview skin format over the years
(thanks much, Mark T.), and am wondering if there is a Weewx skin out there
that resembles Wview?

This is what I currently have running (over many years!)

I have been looking around the net at various skins for Weewx, but have not
yet found just what I want.

Thanks, everybody

This is making me cautious.
