[weewx-user] crt.py

2022-12-08 Thread Glenn Vadney
Matthew . if you are listening, I was wondering if you could help me
with a mod to crt.py file. Is there a way that I can modify crt.py to get
field 'UV' from a csv and add it to the cumulus realtime.txt output. I am
generating a csv from a SI115x sunlight sensor with fields of 'time', 'UV'
and would like to insert it into the CRT stream if possible. Would this
work ? Thanks in advance .

Changed the SDR & it fixed the issue ... so far. Weird that it failed at
about the same time every morning.

Re: [weewx-user] Weewx data stops at around 3 am every morning ....

2022-05-19 Thread Glenn Vadney
Thanks Tom,

Sorry, I jumped the gun; I think I found the issue. According to the logs,
the SDR stops receiving data over the last 8 days within 40 mins of 3am
each day. I need to check the sensor array cabling & try a different SDR.
It's strange but I think it's the hardware.

[weewx-user] Weewx data stops at around 3 am every morning ....

2022-05-19 Thread Glenn Vadney
My weewx data stops processing every morning around 3 am. The logs
coincidentally show that cron / anacron are doing their thing at about that
same time as well. Does anyone else see this behavior & does it hurt
anything to disable cron jobs completely on a dedicated weather machine ?
I've never run into this issue before in the years that I've been using
linux machines, but then I've never used a dedicated linux machine to
report weather data 24/7 either.

Thanks ... Glenn

2022-05-11 Thread Glenn Vadney
Oh and I forgot to say that if you are using Python3 you will have to go
into the "extra_sensors_service.py" and change line 23 to read : "except
Exception as e:" and restart weewx.

2022-05-11 Thread Glenn Vadney
I am successfully using the BMP180 for barometer with weewx. I followed
this guys tutorial to the letter and it explains everything pretty well ...
so I didn't have any issues at all. I got 5 BMP180 sensors on Ebay. They
shipped from China & made it here in 6 days. The author of the tutorial
explains that the BMP180 is the most weewx friendly of the Baro sensors.
Don't know if that's true but I took him at his word and everything is
working perfect for me. You might want to go with the BMP180 and follow
his tutorial and you will be good to go. Here's the link & I would make a
save a copy of his tutorial webpage just in case it were to go away while
you are working on this issue:

Scroll down to the bottom where he discusses the barometer sensor add-on.

Martin ... Don't know if this helps but I have that exact sensor hooked up
and working perfectly with weewx. I followed this guy's tutorial to the
letter and didn't have any issues at all.

Scroll down to the bottom of this link to the section where he discusses
the BMP180 hookup.

Re: [weewx-user] Re: Weewx to weatherdisplay

2022-05-02 Thread Glenn Vadney
I realize that this response is probably a few years too late for him .
but yes, I have successfully imported weewx cumulus realtime.txt to update
WeatherDisplay. As of last night WeatherDisplay will now import
realtime.txt if the station setup for Skye is used. The developer made
this work in just one day after I inquired about it. I had to modify
crt.py lines 800 & 801 to 'windSpeed' & 'windGust' and the Skye setup now
reads & updates from the realtime.txt file.
