The sqlite people claim that the database format is cross-platform, even
between 32 and 64 bit. Linky .

The db move from weewx to wview worked fine, no problems. I used sqlite3 .dump
rather than just copy as I was going from 64-bit to 32. Done just in time as my
weewx server crashed an hour later... thanks again

Thanks, Tom, I'll let you know. May wait a while until this storm is gone for
good.

I don't see why not. Just copy weewx.sdb over to
/var/wview/archive/wview-archive.sdb. It will include the daily summaries,
which wview doesn't use, but it should work.

Let us know how that turns out.

[weewx-user] use weewx db in wview

2017-03-14 Thread bgrattan
Hello,

I used wview with good luck for about seven years and moved to weewx a
couple of years ago [Much appreciated to Tom, Matt and all those who do
excellent work and support]. I have kept an instance of wview running in
the background because it was always running well. Not being much of a
programmer, I feel that weewx is easier to configure and keep up for what I
need.

A disk crash the other day caused me to completely reinstall weewx
(setup.py) which is now running 3.7.0 very well. I would like to also
reinstall wview but need some db records (sqlite3) from weewx to bring
wview up to date.

To get to my question, can I dump/read the weewx db back into wview? It
seemed to be easy in the other direction.

My station is a VP2+ on Debian jessie: grattans.org/wx

Thanks in advance.

Bob
