Hi Alec, In FC8, the default device is apparently "pulse", a virtual PulseAudio device. I suspect that all devices will be moving to dmix, plughw or pulse within a pretty short time, so we're not likely to have a problem for long. Cheers, Dave. In my case there is problems when the sound playing (alsa_sndfile.cpp) and the regular audio tries to open the same device simultaneously. It works if the device used id a virtual one (e g mixer) but not if it's a physical card. In my case, the "default" device is a physical card, hence these problems. Sooner or later we will have to unify the the things playing sounds and handling the audio the use the same open file. >Ursprungligt meddelande >Från: [EMAIL PROTECTED] >Datum: 26-09-2007 18:40 >Till: >Ärende: [Wengophone-devel] 2.2 and ALSA > >Hi, > >Alec: I'm running latest 2.2 at the moment. The easliest (?) thing to do is to run a global search & replace on the old .po files, convert them to .ts files, make lupdate, convert the resulting .ts files to .po files, and upload those. But I'm not confident in a blind search & replace for this. I used Kbabel successfully in this kind of situations, without complains. But i'm sure some translators would disagree. [Wengophone-devel] JItter buffer and Alsa buffer
Looking for wisdom, I found this in the twinkle alsa driver: // The number of periods determines the ALSA application buffer size. // This size must be larger than the jitter buffer. // TODO: use some more sophisticated algorithm here: read back the period // size and calculate the number of periods needed (only in the // short latency case)? if (buffersize <= 64) { periods *= 8; } else if (buffersize <= 256) { periods *= 4; } Anybody out there who understands what this means? I think Dan Sandberg mentioned a jitter buffer somewhere, but I lost his address. ___ Wengophone-devel mailing list Wengophone-devel@lists.openwengo.com http://dev.openwengo.com/mailman/listinfo/wengophone-devel

The Firefox extension, in its current state, is available in svn in https://dev.openwengo.org/svn/openwengo/wengophone-firefox/trunk/openwengo/ It's free software, so do with it as you will. It hasn't been actively maintained for several months, so it's not up to date either for the softphone or for Firefox (won't work with Firefox 2). also, as far as I known, there is no IM in there.
