I did not intend to speak for Wengo, I just wanted to explain how I felt the
project was being considered based on the latest months I spent in the
company and on information I collected after my departure.

Question is: what can Wengo bring without monetary support? Everything Wengo
will do will cost the company some money. I don't see why shareholders would
approve that, since it won't bring anything back to the company.

Don't get me wrong, even if I do not feel like contributing to the project for
now, I certainly want it to survive. If Wengo can continue to support the
community in other ways than financially, I don't see anything bad in this. I
just can't see how it can happen, but I would love to be proved wrong.

Hello,
Why on earth would'nt you have the full source code ? the OW svn is the
only repo for wengophone 2.2 development and the full source code is there.

Just checkout this branch "branches/wengophone-2.2" and you should get
all you need for wengophone 2.2

Please check
http://dev.openwengo.com/trac/openwengo/trac.cgi/wiki/WengoPhoneCobranding
for instructions on cobranding and wengophone compilation instructions.

Here is the issue we are seeing:
==
there are some problems in the compiling the OW phone
 1. Installing in BOOST C++ Lib.

* The big problem is that Unable to Download some files
* Then unable to extract files.

 2. Unable to Detect files By C make During configuration of project.

 3. Unable to find SVN subversion.

 4. After installation of Boost( 1.33.1) some files are still
missing by Detecting CMAKE S/W like

  I. Boost_Install_lib file Could not detect.
II. Cmake could not add all Boost lib. automatically but
added manually.
III. According to project req. we need 5 Boost files, During
Installation which are,

· unit tests

· threading

· serialization

· program options

· signals

But still Boost req. some extra boost lib files:-

· Python

· Date Time

· File Sys

· Iostream

· monitor

· Regex

· Wserialization

   5. After configuring all the path of files Cmake It encounter 3
Errors, Mainly absence of Cmake.exe file for running project.

   6. BOOSTINCLUDEDIR
   Not found Include Dir.
   7. X11R6LIBDIR
   Not found Include Dir.

Git repo is not all OW needs. What about a homepage? Forums? Mailing-list
archives?

Have you guys thought about Sourceforge?

Gosh, I wish I was good at C++...

Aurélien Gâteau wrote:

But this is the past. It's time to be honest, Wengo has chosen a completely
different road and it needs to assume this choice. There is no one working on
the OpenWengo project in Wengo anymore. The only remaining support Wengo
provides for now is hosting. Considering that:

- www.openwengo.org is down at least one time out of three
(In these case I get a blank page. The source of the page says:
)

- WengoPhone user support has been stopped.

- Wengo is currently in the process of cancelling all paid WengoPhone
subscriptions.

I do not believe Wengo will continue to host this project for a very long
time. And I would not blame them: I can't see what interest they would have
in continuing to host it.

As I said, Wengo created the OpenWengo community and this is a great
achievement, but nowadays Wengo is as relevant to the OpenWengo project as
Netscape is relevant to the Mozilla project.

Aurélien

Aurelien,
Please do not speak for Wengo or take wild guesses at what Wengo is doing.

As I said, we are currently looking at different options to make sure
that the OpenWengo project stays alive and active without a monetary
support from Wengo.

Nevertheless, holidays are holidays,
Enjoy your holidays and happy new year to all!
Jerome
ps: thanks Aurelien for the tip on openwengo.org not working ! it should
work now - a bug happening only when your browser's native language is
french.
