Details:

In my campaign I have a AI-controlled (persistent) side.
The use of ('save_id' and) 'persistent=yes' seems to crash the game.

When I remove 'persistent=yes', then the next scenario starts without any
problem,
otherwise I get an error message, and the next scenario wont load.
The error message is:
"Error while playing the game: game_error: invalid side(4) found in unit
definition"
(the persistent AI side was side number 4 in my previous scenario)

BfW 1.11.2
Windows 7

Follow-up Comment #1, bug #20846 (project wesnoth):

What's missing here is a straightforward way to reproduce. In the forums I
read that it appears to happen in SotBE as well, so what we need is a
start-of-scenario save that reproduces the bug (probably for more that a
single scenario) and/or a sequence of :cl and/or :n (or similar debug)
commands that can be used to get to this point after starting the campaign
anew.
