[Wesnoth-dev] Releasing 1.3.3

2007-05-17 Thread Nils Kneuper
Hiho!
I want to get 1.3.3 out tomorrow around lunchtime. To be more precise:
Friday, 18th May, 12:00 GMT+2/CEST. So if you have anything left to
commit, do so now. If there are any blockers for the release you know
that you can't fix yourself until the release is sheduled, please drop a
mail.
Known problems that will exist in the 1.3.3 release:
* Utbs partly broken due to the rewrite: There is even a message about
this in the selection screen.
* TsG might be broken: It already has been "problematic" for quite some
time, this ain't a real reason, is it?
* Will saves work with the new version? No idea if the reordering of
virtually all stuff in data/ has any bad impact on savegames. Beside
this: people should know that we tend to break compatibiliry between the
single dev releases. ;)
* Any probs left due to the reorganisation of data/? No idea, would be
good if you tested it a bit more so that we know it if any probs are
left. Quite some were already fixed though...

So if anything is left, please drop a mail about it.
Cheers,
Nils Kneuper aka Ivanovic

The reorganization didn't break savegames at any point when I was doing it.
So I think we're fairly safe there.

Terrain editor is failing at startup. This is almost certainly due to
a wired-in path somewhere, but I have not found it yet.

I have a report that the po/FINDCFG scripts need to be fixed, but the only one
I looked at looks OK. What subset of cfgs are these supposed to generate,
functionally speaking? Are they generated at configure time from something
else? Lack of comments in them is a problem...

Otherwise I know of no blockers related either to the reorg or anything else.

And, as it turns out, I can't reproduce this. I was going on reports
from others, but the terrain editor works fine for me
pointed at a current data tree.

I plan to retest seeing the license in the help menu. It got broken after
the start of the reorg. Due to the svn issue with copies requiring network
downloads rather than disk copies, my resync this morning didn't finish,
but I will try to test it tonight.

When I try to start the editor (from my source dir) with
$ src/wesnoth_editor --datadir .
as before the reorg , it doesn't work (however, "src/wesnoth ." still works).

$ src/wesnoth_editor --datadir data/core/
starts the editor, but all terrains and terrain-type buttons are shown
three times.

Moritz
