Dear all, There is now overwhelming consensus on documentation of key action points agreed upon in the forum. In addition to moderation and documentation by Mr. Arumadri, I would suggest we have subject matter experts to facilitate discussion on some of the topical issues. These subject matter experts would work with the moderator to collect, summarize, refine, and package the information for easy distribution. I also propose the format below for the document: Title e.g Summary of discussion on .......... from ....... period to.......... Background to the issue/topic Action points/suggestions/way forward Points for further discussion Conclusions References if any May i suggest the following rules to facilitate our discussions? 1. A topic or an issue be discussed at a time 2. A topic should be discussed for a maximum of 2 weeks 3. Every topic or contribution should contain moderator's comment or note 4. Notices or Announcements be routed through the moderator Last but not least, I would like to bring to the attention of this forum and for digestion by members of this forum the disagreement of West Nile Districts over what to do with the 300M, part of 900M Peace Recovery & Development Programme. One group thinks the money would best be put in one project (Nile University) but another group wants the money given to individual districts. As a stakeholder in the development of West Nile, what is your take? I agree with Gilbert that our ideas have to go somewhere or else they end up no where. We have a lot of talents, nearly in every domain of education. For us to transform these wonderful ideas we post on this forum into action plans, we need to have consorted mechanism for communicating these ideas to our local leaders/admistrators. Secondly we need to coordinate these ideas into a usable format. We need to strike a collaborative working relationship, team building and camaradee approach in working with our local administrators so that they do not perceive us as a threat. Our mission and vision is simple: Better servcies & Sustanianble community development. Mr Andema had posted a name " West Nile Development Forum". Correct me if I am wrong. Why can't we have a thorough discussion on this issue. Is it feasible and doable? How do we go about formulating and organizing this? Do we agree or disagree? I have to repeat myself one more time. If we do not have a structured way of communing our ideas, ideals, vision, mission to the local people, how do these ideas get implemented? This forum has been a perfect tool for gathering us where we live, around the globe. Talking about issues affecting West Nile region and our communities. The bottom line is, how can we get these ideas to the people who are the ultimate benefectors? How long shall we continue just talking without action plans? Let's engage ourselves and have debate on how we can organize ourselves in a formal way.
