Re: [WestNileNet] WestNileNet Digest, Vol 30, Issue 56

2011-02-28 Thread Aluma Adam
I wish to also clarify that Hon. Achille Manoah- MP Elect Aringa County is not
from UPC Party but had earlier lost Flag Bearer Bid in the NRM Party Primaries
and contested as an Independent. Members, kindly consider the error on the
list corrected except if he chooses to defect to UPC.

Adiga Godi,

You were spot on. Besides, Ezama Ruffino's list gave us opportunity to know who
our representatives are.

More so we do not have to shun politics; perhaps Odama's fear was that such
publication would cause divisions...along party lines or individual
representatives followers lines? Politics is not essentially about that.

Bravo Adiga.

Dear Peter
i do not see or find any problem with Fr. Ruffino submitting the list
of MPs. FYI i assume that not all members on the net are in Uganda!
Lets try not to read too much into innocent issues

2011-02-23 Thread Adiga Godi
It would be nice to know who made it this time so we can congradulate them.
Personalized messages mean a lot more.
Could any one of the brothers or sisters with the information please let us
know who are our new MPs?
Thanks.
Adiga Godi.

Thanks to those who have taken the lead to congradulate the winners. Election
has always two outcomes: Winners and Losers. Losers should concede defeat and
focus on preparing for the next election. Do post mortem on why they flopped.

We hope the winners will take the issues we have been drumming on this forum
seriously and turn the page around.

Those who have contacts of the winners should invite them to join this forum so
that we all share wisdom, talent, challenge and action on developing our own
region that is lagging behind. Change can only only come if we take collective
responsibility on addressing issues.

Dear Members,

It seems most of us are too 'busy' celebrating the outcome of the recently
concluded presidential and parliamentary elections and forgetting to
congratulate the winners. I am taking this opportunity to congratulate all
those who have been legitimately elected, hoping they will do their best to
respect the electorate and deliver...

I have also noted the interesting election map in the Sunday Monitor (online)
that shows, virtually the whole country, including our own West Nile region
"boarding the yellow bus". I have been left with one fleeting thought, that is,
all that has seemed to pass us by, by way of major regional macroeconomic
developments should finally be history (?), given that our people have voted
'wisely' for the first time in 15 years! Members, let's relish the
possibility that 'we may not need to worry too much about development in our
region' - politically speaking, as we now have an important bargaining chip, or
do we?

I wish you all very wise celebrations and congratulations once more to our
elected leaders and representatives.

Maureen

Thanks Maureen for that observation and I want to join you in congratulating
the winners. I just returned this morning from exercising my voting rights in
Arua and all was peaceful and I think largely expected results.

However, the outcome must take our leaders to yet another level of bargaining
and securing our share of the national cake, since the latter may not increase
in size proportionate to the improved vote countrywide, more so in the areas
that had hitherto been opposition strongholds, which have now boarded the
yellow bus. The next level of politics after this now needs skilled and
aggressive hunters who should aim at delivering the portion of the carcas of
the fallen animal normally alloted to the person whose arrow or spear injures
the animal first. And you guess the aggression it takes to secure our portion!

Otherwise, let us congratulate ourselves for having behaving maturely; having
avoided violence.

Aggrey Adrale
