Virus messages .....
Dear friends in the wget list, for several weeks now, there's almost no day without warnings that messages in my incoming mail are infected with some variant of WORM_KLEZ. Due to the fact that my email is scanned, I'm fortunately protected against it. Nontheless I would strongly recommend anybody to scan his computer. Free (web based) scanning is available at http://www.antivirus.com. Select Free tools in the top menu and then Scan Your PC, Free from the list. You'll not even have to register to use it. Please. SEGV when invoking wget -p /
Hi, on my system (Debian Gnu-Linux Unstable, i686), wget crashes when invoked this way: wget -p / Starting program: /home/lrde/stud/tisser_n/trash/wget-1.8.1/src/wget -p / Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault. 0x08061c5e in retrieve_tree (start_url=0x808dff8 /) at recur.c:201 201 url_enqueue (queue, xstrdup (start_url_parsed-url), NULL, 0); The bug is in recur.c, line 201 : When url_parse finds an error in the parsed url (here /), he returns NULL. so, start_url_parsed is NULL, and start_url_parsed-url crashes. Extract text using the parser (Stand alone mode)
I would like to use only the parser delivered with wget and I would like to extract the text from a web page. Is it possible to do it, using this parser ? You'll not even have to register to use it. Please. It may not be so simple. Klez uses anti-anti-virus techniques to prevent itself from being detected or deleted. It took me several days to figure out how to eradicate it from my computer. The only way I was able to get rid of it was by booting my computer in Safe mode and installing the anti-virus software from a CD. If one runs something that has been downloaded from the Internet, there is a strong possibility that Klez will infect it before it can do its detection or cleaning. I agree with Frank. If you're running Windows (particularly if you're using Outlook and/or have opened attachments sent to wget lists recently), you need to scan (and probably clean) your computer. Tony

storing transient cookies?
Hello, I would like to be able to save also transient cookies to the cookie file. This is because otherwise it is difficult to talk to web-servers that use transient cookies for session management.
