I've come across this annoying bug :
Even though wget is told not to span other hosts, it does when  
redirected !!!


This bug has been waiting for a fix for quite a long time :

I don't know how to make things change as I'm not a programmer myself...

Hi,

I ran "wget -P /tmp/.test http://192.168.1.10" in SUSE system (SLES 9) and found that it saved the file in /tmp/_test. 
This command works fine inRedHat, is it a bug?
wget version: wget-1.9.1-45.12

I believe the bug is introduced by SuSE in an attempt to protect the
user.  Try reporting it to them.
