Selecting stable means get outdated stable versions. This is the default
and what the behavior was before. You can get outdated version of other
qualities by selecting those dropdowns.

[Bug 18217] New: Additional namespace aliases for cuwiki

  Platform: All
   URL: http://cu.wikipedia.org
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: Normal

The most active users of Old Church Slavonic Wikipedia now are Russians. So we
request namespace aliases in Russian in addition to English default ones.
English aliases should be kept working.
Here are required aliases:
cu (default) en ru
Обраꙁь́ць Template Шаблон
Катигорі́ꙗCategory Категория
По́льꙃєватєл҄ь User Участник

[Bug 18218] New: Feature request: Who submitted a specific bit of text?

2009-03-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=18218

Summary: Feature request: Who submitted a specific bit of text?
   Product: Wikimedia
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: All
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: Normal
 Component: General/Unknown
AssignedTo: wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org
ReportedBy: irreven...@hotmail.com

BACKGROUND: Often users forget to sign their posts in talk pages, requiring
someone to hunt down the post in the history log and attribute the comment.
This is especially a pain when they've accidentally put the comment into the
article rather than the discussion page, or other high turnover situations.

PROPOSAL: It would be really useful to be able to somehow select a piece of
text and click a button (or whatever) that tells you who wrote that text. It
would be good if it provided a link to the appropriate history entry too.

POTENTIAL COMPLICATIONS: Sometimes even a single word has been edited by
multiple users (usually for typos). In that case, it would have to give you a
list of the users/changes and you could find the right one.

COMMENTS: Not a high priority feature request by any means, but it would make
the day-to-day administration of wikipedia (et al) easier.

Thanks.

[Bug 18219] New: Indicate when viewing old revision in the browser title bar (ie. page title)

2009-03-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=18219

Summary: Indicate when viewing old revision in the browser title
bar (ie. page title)
   Product: MediaWiki
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: All
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: Normal
 Component: Page rendering
AssignedTo: wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org
ReportedBy: irreven...@hotmail.com

Currently the browser title bar (ie. the page title) is the same whether you're
viewing the current version of a page or an old one.

eg. instead of saying Cheese - Wikipedia, the free encyclopaedia it could say
Cheese [Revision: 18:26, March 17, 2009] - Wikipedia, the free encyclopaedia.

Thanks.

[Bug 17871] mention one can export via the API too (much more flexible)

the API isn't designed for users
Perhaps add warnings to that effect on api.php and
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/API
otherwise folks will certainly spread the gospel to their users.

[Bug 15637] Hiding categories via CSS violates accessibility

Summary|Mention CSS requirements in |Hiding categories via CSS

Version|1.14-svn|1.15-svn

--- Comment #3 from jida...@jidanni.org 2009-03-28 04:38:17 UTC ---
Allow me to redefine this bug.

Styleshees are for changing style.

Here you are making _information_ depend on stylesheets.

That is crossing the boundary and a clear violation of accessibility
principles.

The hidden categories should appear, or _disappear_, from the HTML,
not via the sytlesheet!

Sure, you could say most users don't need accessibility, but why throw it away
for nothing?
