[Bug 18270] Some IIS-based configuration doesn't serve 404 errors from PHP correctly
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=18270 --- Comment #15 from Shawn Desjardins 2009-04-21 02:58:00 UTC --- Okay just to make sure that I did everything right according to your instructions I did another clean install with a once again fresh download of the wiki software, and I am still having the same issue with a generic 404 page coming up. It happens when: I click on the links to a user page that does not exist. I click on the links to a users talk page that does not exist. (When I click on a talk page to an article that does not yet have a talk page of it's own, it goes directly to the editing this page function through the &redlink=1 that is already in the hyper link) I click on a link for a "special page" ( like help: or desjardins:) that does not exist. I type in the search box anything with a colon (user:someone, or help:something) that a page does not exist and then clock on "GO" or press the Enter key. (But I get the correct Wiki the page does not exist etc... page when I press "search".) So that tells me something is missing in the error checking of the wiki software to properly handle non existant pages and therefore gives up and IIS has nothing better to do than return a 404 page. I do have programming knowledge but I am not an expert php programmer, I am not an expert webmaster, I simply followed the instructions provided and this is what I am encountering. I do not recall anywhere telling me where I needed to set up how to handle 404 errors, or non-existent pages, or that I had to set up IIS any diferently to handle 404 errors other than what was there already. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. [Bug 16950] Show move log when viewing/creating a deleted page
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=16950 --- Comment #15 from Aryeh Gregor 2009-04-21 01:26:14 UTC --- -* @param $type String: A log type ('upload', 'delete', etc) +* @param $type Array: Log types ('upload', 'delete', etc) "String or array" is more correct. + // If $type is not an array, make it an array + if ( !is_array( $type ) ) + { + $type=array( "$type" ); + } This should just be: $type = (array)$type; Also note some style issues here (opening brace is on the same line as the if, "=" should have spaces around it). Also, $type should probably be renamed $types, it's a little confusing now. - if( isset($wgLogRestrictions[$type]) && !$wgUser->isAllowed($wgLogRestrictions[$type]) ) { + foreach ( $type as $i => $t ) { + if( isset( $wgLogRestrictions[$t] ) && !$wgUser->isAllowed($wgLogRestrictions[$t]) ) { + unset( $type["$i"] ); + } You seem to have too much indentation here. $type["$i"] seems a bit odd to me, may as well just be $type[$i]. Also, maybe best to avoid the extra $i and do $type = array_diff( $type, array( $t ) ) instead of the unset. If $type were renamed $types, you could do foreach ( $types as $type ) instead of the slightly confusing $t. + if ( count($type)==0 ) { Style: if ( count( $type ) == 0 ) { We use lots of spaces . . . - 'type' => 'delete', + 'type' => '', - array( 'type' => 'delete', 'page' => $this->mTitle->getPrefixedText() ) + array( 'type' => '', 'page' => $this->mTitle->getPrefixedText() ) Is there a reason you're doing 'type' => '' instead of just dropping type altogether? Does that not work? -'recreate-deleted-warn'=> "'''Warning: You are recreating a page that was previously deleted.''' +'moveddeleted-notice' => 'This page has been moved and/or deleted. +The move and deletion log for the page are provided below for reference.', +'recreate-moveddeleted-warn' => "'''Warning: You are recreating a page that was previously moved and/or deleted.''' Moving without redirect is very unlikely compared to deletion, so I think it would be best to keep these saying just "deleted" instead of "moved and/or deleted". If you're going to keep both, I'd say "deleted and/or moved without redirect", which a) puts the common case first and b) makes it clear when this actually shows up (you won't see it for pages that were moved normally and not deleted). (Why did you change the order of these two messages?) I don't see any other problems. With these fixed, I'd be willing to commit it, if no problems show up when I test it out. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Wikibugs-l mailing list Wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l

This may indicate a bug in the software. The last attempted database query was: " It most probably occured in response to installing conflicting extensions. I have made provision a revised version of the Local Settings for the site to further investigate the matter. Secondly, the recent transition of image to file tags on the main MediaWiki application has contributed to no images (thumbnails) being displayable on the site. Only the logo and the original image file shows images, not thumbnailed or embedded images. If at all possible, please review these bugs for consistancy and program continuity. While it looks semantically incorrect for Opera to be using 'projection' instead of 'screen' when in full-screen zoom, there's probably no point to breaking it. :) Should be easy enough to transform 'screen' back to 'screen, projection' here. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. [Bug 18531] New: Hiding can hide a bit too well
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=18531 Summary: Hiding can hide a bit too well Product: MediaWiki Version: unspecified Platform: All OS/Version: All Status: NEW Severity: enhancement Priority: Normal Component: Blocking AssignedTo: wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org ReportedBy: ft2.w...@gmail.com I have been trying to sort out a checkuser/oversight case, and noticed I've been greatly hampered by the "hide username" function. While this is extremely valuable, it also makes it near impossible to track down edits of a disruptive user, which is precisely the kind of work oversighters and checkusers often have to do. (More generally, in the past it's been possible for anyone to track a change such as a rename, move, oversighting, or deletion in the logs and history provided they are able to see the source entries (ie have the appropriate admin/oversight rights needed). We need to not lose that ability with these new tools.) REQUEST: If the user viewing material is an oversighter or otherwise would be allowed to see or modify the "hide username" setting, then the username appears as "[deleted] (show/hide)" or "[hidden] (show/hide)" in lists and other places, not just be omitted. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug.
