https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14950 --- Comment #10 from FT2 2009-07-27 06:25:41 UTC --- (Copied from bug 19951) This request is that now SUL is well established, it is enhanced to be a genuine central account manager for the merged/SUL-ed accounts too. That is, instead of Special:MergeAccount, there is Special:Central Account Management or the like. This would have 2 tabs (a 3rd was suggested for email address management and confirmation, now withdrawn): Tab #1 -- to view merged accounts and active projects, and demerge selected accounts or add new merged accounts. Tab #2 -- a central preferences tab, which would be the same as the usual Special:Preferences but on each page buttons "set this as the default for new accounts" and "export changed setting to all merged accounts". -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Wikibugs-l mailing list Wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l

[Bug 19932] Upload branch code merged in r53282 breaks php session handling
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=19932 Brad Jorsch changed: What|Removed |Added Status|RESOLVED|REOPENED Resolution|WORKSFORME | --- Comment #3 from Brad Jorsch 2009-07-27 01:52:22 UTC --- Using r53792 to test. I issue the following API command: maxlag=5&format=json&filename=Test.svg&action=upload&url=http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/a/a4/Red_bug.svg&token=[...] I get back the following response: Fatal error: Call to a member function isOK() on a non-object in /usr/local/src/MediaWiki/phase3/includes/api/ApiUpload.php on line 132 After applying my patch from bug 19930, I reissue the above command and get the expected warning response (too long to quote here, if you REALLY want it I can attach it) with a session key. Then I issue the following API command to try to complete the upload: maxlag=5&format=json&filename=Test.svg&ignorewarnings=1&action=upload&sessionkey=[...]&token=[...] I get back the following response: {"upload":{"result":"Failure","error":"unknown-error","code":{"status":3}}} After applying my patch from bug 19931 and re-running the queries, I get the following slightly more helpful result: {"upload":{"result":"Failure","error":"empty-file"}} When I examine the session file for that request in /var/lib/php5, I observe that it does NOT contain wsUploadData. The only keys contained are wsUserID, wsToken, wsUserName, wsEditToken, and wsDownload. When I apply the HttpFunctions.php part of the patch I attached to this bug and re-run the queries again, the upload succeeds. The session file for that request DOES, of course, contain the wsUploadData. It seems clear that Http::update_session_progress calling session_write_close is breaking session writing in any part of MediaWiki called after that function. I suppose that's not "everything", but it is most certainly screwing things up. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Wikibugs-l mailing list Wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l

They strongly supported the alternative of moving the definitions into the references block however, so that's the only version I implemented. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. [Bug 19951] New: Allow Central user account management (prefs) via CentralAuth
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=19951 Summary: Allow Central user account management (prefs) via CentralAuth Product: MediaWiki extensions Version: any Platform: All OS/Version: All Status: NEW Severity: enhancement Priority: Normal Component: CentralAuth AssignedTo: wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org ReportedBy: ft2.w...@gmail.com Users can connect their accounts on multiple wikis via SUL (CentralAuth). A Wikimedian may well be active on dozens of projects; while SUL automatically manages their account authentication and automated logins on a common basis, all other settings are local and each field must be re-entered or changes on every one of those dozens of projects when something changes. This request is that now SUL is well established, it is enhanced to be a genuine central account manager for the merged/SUL-ed accounts too. That is, instead of Special:MergeAccount, there is Special:Central Account Management or the like. This would have 3 tabs: Tab #1 -- to view merged accounts and active projects, and demerge selected accounts or add new merged accounts. Tab #2 -- a central preferences tab, which would be the same as the usual Special:Preferences but on each page buttons "set this as the default for new accounts" and "export changed setting to all merged accounts". Tab #3 -- for account email addresses, since reconfirming emails on each of many projects is painful. Instead it would list email addresses confirmed by the merged accounts, and allow add (and confirm), and removal of addresses, from this list. Any confirmed email address on that list would automatically be deemed a valid confirmed email address for any merged account, and any email on that list could be used in the central preferences dialog to set a default email or to change all merged accounts to a specific (confirmed) email. Explanation: Most users would probably only use one email address, and this lets them set and change it centrally. But a user who wishes to use multiple email addresses, e.g. one email for all EN projects and another for all DE projects, or one for all wikipedias and one for all wikinews (ie a user may have 2 "known" addresses using one in some places and the other in others) is also accomodated. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. We can take that out done in r53791 For Http::update_session_progress we need to open/close the session to avoid "locking". If you could be more specific about "screw everything up" that would be helpful. I am running it locally with php based sessions and seems to work giving me status updates of http download progress. If don't close the session, the first status update just hangs waiting for the download to finish and close the session. As long as extensions are passing their path as either a full URL (with protocol) or relative from the docroot (ie /extensions/MyExt/whatever.css) they should be fine (see line 1941 on HEAD, r53780). Only if the style relative from the current location (ie: MyExt/whatever.css) will it fail, because then styleLink() goes ahead and adds all the stuff you mention, including $wgStylePath. Hence the provision of two separate worker functions in wgOut, addStyle() and addExtensionStyle(). [Bug 19940] New: urldecode dropped during StringFunctions-ParserFunctions merger
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=19940 Summary: urldecode dropped during StringFunctions-ParserFunctions merger Product: MediaWiki extensions Version: any Platform: All OS/Version: All Status: NEW Keywords: easy Severity: normal Priority: Normal Component: ParserFunctions AssignedTo: wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org ReportedBy: blindwande...@gmail.com During the resolution of #6455 urldecode was dropped. I think this happened because in the comments someone falsely stated that both urldecode & urlencode were both built in functions already exposed and could subsequently dropped. There are three solutions, either make urldecode a built-in parser function, make a custom extension to expose it, or add it to ParserFunctions. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. [Bug 19229] Captcha in the latin script fails people who do not do Latin
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=19229 --- Comment #6 from Happy-melon 2009-07-26 11:39:21 UTC --- (In reply to comment #5) > You do not get it. fact >You want a Cyrillic captcha for those languages that are > written in Cyrillic. Yup >This has nothing at all to do with en.wiki Nope. That's why I said in comment 4 that "it doesn't [add anything] on say, enwiki" >because there > we only need to server a Latin captcha. Yup >People who use another script are > likely to create their user on a wiki with that other script. Yup. And since most spambots aren't going to be able to read Cyrillic captchas, most spambots can't do that. Ergo, improved security. Yes, the security increase is weakened by CentralAuth, but that doesn't mean there isn't a security increase. We'd be giving captchas that some spambots can't read (and improving accesibility at the same time). [Bug 19938] New: last search results page contains next page link if result count is multiple of limit
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=19938 Summary: last search results page contains next page link if result count is multiple of limit Product: MediaWiki Version: 1.16-svn Platform: All URL: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special%3ASear ch&search=portend&fulltext=Search OS/Version: All Status: NEW Severity: minor Priority: Normal Component: Search AssignedTo: wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org ReportedBy: fp...@web.de If the number of search results is an integer multiple of the number of results displayed on one page (e.g., a search for "portend" in the English Wikipedia currently yields 200 results, a multiple of 20, 50 and 100), the last page of results contains a link to the next page of results; clicking on this leads to a page that says "There were no results matching the query". (By contrast, if the number of results isn't a multiple of the number per page, the last, partial page still has the text for the next page link, but it's not a link.) P.S.: I selected version "1.16-svn" because that was the closest to 'wgVersion = "1.16alpha-wmf"' specified in the HTML source of the search results page. Since this is probably the only way for a lot of people to find out which version they're reporting about, the versions running on the major Wikipedias should preferably be options in the version list (or it should be more obvious which version to choose based on that information). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug.
