Seems to be an issue with browser cookies. Logging out, then logging back in
again seems to cure the problem.

[Bug 20649] New: Inconsistent thread history display for thread view

2009-09-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=20649

Summary: Inconsistent thread history display for thread view
   Product: MediaWiki extensions
   Version: any
  Platform: All
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: Normal
 Component: LiquidThreads
AssignedTo: agarr...@wikimedia.org
ReportedBy: siebr...@wikipedia.be

Navigating thread history from Special:NewMessages is tedious at the moment,
and different from clicking the 'history' link on a regular talk page. I guess
this could be resolved by having a thread history link
'lqt_hist_view_whole_thread' in the page subtitle in step (full thread view)[2]
as is present on [3].

Example:
* Click You have new messages. - Special:NewMessages[1]
* Click Full thread - Full thread is displayed[2]
* Click View history - - action=history, displays only when thread was
created[3]
* Click View history for the entire thread - Full thread history is
displayed[4]

[Bug 20594] Database Display in Mediawiki

I am totally satisfied with Platonides. Displaying the Database is very very
useful for attacker. With it you are telling that BOSS Come this is the Key
Combination to Open my Locker. :))

Kindly let me know if other potential information in being leaked.

It's not that much of a vulnerability, really. I agree that we shouldn't expose
it if not necessary, but it's not like the DB name is the attacker's magic key
to everything; you still need the DB username+password and a way to connect to
the DB server before you can get anywhere.

[Bug 20651] New: Maintenance.php function purgeRedundantText() not able to deal with big data set

  Platform: All
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: Normal
 Component: Maintenance scripts
AssignedTo: innocentkil...@gmail.com
ReportedBy: emman...@engelhart.org

deleteOldRevisions.php calls Maintenance.php function purgeRedundantText().

Running in on a big DB (more than 200.000 pages) the script dies like
following:

Il database ha restituito il seguente errore 1153: Got a packet bigger than
'max_allowed_packet' bytes (localhost).

I think the SQL reauests including NOT IN ($set) or IN ($set) are
responsible for that because they can only accept a few hundreds or thousands
of ids.

Please confirm if I'm right.

[Bug 20648] Commons upload needs better dropdown options for sources

--- Comment #1 from Mormegil morme...@centrum.cz 2009-09-15 13:40:13 UTC ---
Why is this reported to Bugzilla? Problems on specific projects should be
reported to those projects, don’t you think? (In this case, e.g.
[[commons:Village pump]].)

And, anyway: I see the following licensing option in the drop-down on Commons:

Not self-made, but has been released under:
* Creative Commons licenses
  o cc-by-sa-3.0|Attribution ShareAlike 3.0
  o cc-by-sa-2.5|Attribution ShareAlike 2.5
  o cc-by-3.0|Attribution 3.0
  o cc-by-2.5|Attribution 2.5
* Free Art License
  o FAL|Free Art License
* Flickr photos
  o subst:template 2|flickrreview|subst:nld|Image from Flickr and I do
not know the license
  o subst:template 2|cc-by-sa-2.0|flickrreview|Uploaded to Flickr under
Creative Commons Attribution ShareAlike 2.0
  o subst:template 2|cc-by-2.0|flickrreview|Uploaded to Flickr under
Creative Commons Attribution 2.0

(See http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/MediaWiki:Licenses or
http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:Upload?uselang=en)

There is no “made by someone else for use on Wikipedia only” on any of our
projects whatsoever, AFAICT
[http://www.google.com/search?q=made+by+someone+else+for+use+on+wikipedia+only;].
Maybe you could be a bit more specific…?

It is setup and working now. I also added both your accounts to both

can both create other accounts to invite folks.)

You will need to go and request it email you a new password. Since it is a
private wiki and I did not want to give myself an unneeded account, that step
is unavoidable as far as I know.

[Bug 20655] New: unescaped HTML in delete-page interface

2009-09-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=20655

Summary: unescaped HTML in delete-page interface
   Product: MediaWiki extensions
   Version: any
  Platform: All
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: Normal
 Component: UsabilityInitiative
AssignedTo: tpars...@wikimedia.org
ReportedBy: won...@riseup.net
CC: wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org

Create a page that includes say, a '' character very near the beginning. Then
select 'Delete' while using the Vector skin. The Other/additional reason
form field will contain a literal '' character in its value attribute, which
is invalid XHTML. This makes the page unviewable on sites that use the
application/xhtml+xml content type to serve MathML content.

[Bug 20656] New: crashes when content of source is too long

2009-09-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=20656

Summary: crashes when content of source is too long
   Product: MediaWiki extensions
   Version: any
  Platform: All
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: Normal
 Component: SyntaxHighlight (GeSHi)
AssignedTo: soxre...@gmail.com
ReportedBy: won...@riseup.net

If there's a lot of source code in a source tag, the syntax highlighter
crashes and the user gets a blank screen. It would be better to fall back to a
plain pre block instead of syntax highlighting in that case, or something.

[Bug 20657] New: make get_language_name_from_extension() accessible to other extensions

2009-09-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=20657

   Summary: make get_language_name_from_extension() accessible to
other extensions
   Product: MediaWiki extensions
   Version: any
  Platform: All
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: Normal
 Component: SyntaxHighlight (GeSHi)
AssignedTo: soxre...@gmail.com
ReportedBy: won...@riseup.net

I am writing an extension that creates source tags and invokes
SyntaxHighlight_GeSHi to highlight source code for various filenames with a
range of file types. It needs to call the
GeSHi::get_language_name_from_extension() function in order to create a source
tag with the correct lang attribute given a filename. Currently I have to do
some gyration, first calling SyntaxHighlight_GeSHi::hSpecialVersion_GeSHi() as
a roundabout way to ensure that geshi/geshi.php is loaded in, then creating a
GeSHi object to provide the member function. The php file is probably in
$IP/extensions/SyntaxHighlight_GeSHi, it's true, but there's nothing requiring
it to be located there.

This function could be static, and if either it were moved to the
SyntaxHighlight_GeSHi class, or a SyntaxHighlight_GeSHi class function were
provided that calls it, it would allow me and others to get the job done
without relying on undocumented implementation details. Or failing that, it
would be helpful to add the GeSHi class to $wgAutoloadClasses.

This should be fixed in r56407. Make sure you have $wgHtml5 set to false if you
want XHTML. Note that the variable documentation for it indicates that the
option may be removed in the future (which would include removal of this fix).
