On most of pages on zhwiki, the name "autoreviewer" is used (see
[[zh:Special:Search/all:autoreviewer]]), instead of "autopatroller" (see
[[zh:Special:Search/all:autopatroller]]).

Why are people with the right "autopatrol" called "autoreviewers" on enwiki but
"autopatrollers" on zhwiki?

I don't mean the localized names, but the code names (the ones in
LocalSettings.php).

Currently, and for a little while now, the subscriber list for oversight-l has
been unreachable, at least for non-listadmins. Putting in the correct email
address and password at
https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/oversight-l and hitting "Visit
Subscriber List" results in a page with the following error: "You must supply a
valid email address." Multiple people report this problem, and the email
addresses being supplied are identical to the ones subscribed, not actually
invalid.

[Bug 21919] Make an extension to produce Google news sitemaps to allow Wikinews to be more efficiently indexed by google

2009-12-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=21919

--- Comment #7 from Bawolff 2009-12-23 04:15:21 UTC ---
Note, Amgine is currently on a road trip, and might have limited internet
connectivity, and might take longer to respond. (however that might have just
been for today.)

I am fairly certain that Amgine would not be opposed to changing the feed to
use the request parameter method.

As for category mapping, I think it would be easier doing it as a system
message, since:
*Google's categories they accept might change, or be expanded
*The category scheme that we use might change
*Each language would use a different scheme
Since we can modify a system message without bothering/waiting for the devs, i
feel that using a system message would be easier.

However with that being said, if you think it'd be better to do in some other
fashion, please don't hesitate. I'm more concerned that such a functionality
exists rather then how it is implemented.

Cheers,
Bawolff

[Bug 21926] New: Single quote in PAGENAME breaks inline queries of n-ary properties

2009-12-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=21926

Summary: Single quote in PAGENAME breaks inline queries of n-ary
properties
   Product: MediaWiki extensions
   Version: any
  Platform: All
   URL: http://sandbox.semantic-
mediawiki.org/index.php?oldid=19162
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: Normal
 Component: Semantic MediaWiki
AssignedTo: mar...@semantic-mediawiki.org
ReportedBy: je...@netwood.net

When making an inline query of a n-ary property whose first part is of type
Page, if the property value contains a single quote ('), then the query will
break if the magic word {{PAGENAME}} is used, but work if the page name is
pasted in directly. The attached URL points to an example of this on the
sandbox. The first query uses the pasted page name (and works), the second
uses {{PAGENAME}} (and fails), and the third uses a non-n-ary property with
{{PAGENAME}} (and works).

This appears to be a problem with escaping, somewhere in the n-ary code.

There is a workaround, but it requires the StringFunctions extension (or some
other way to do urldecoding). If you use {{#urldecode:{{PAGENAMEE, the
query works. I'm not sure why.

I agree that link=none should be separate from format=template; as long as you
are aware of them, it's no harder to match the automatically made links than to
match the plain format -- and if you only want to modify some of the values,
it's nice not to have to manually link-ify the other ones.

A possible improvement to help debug problems would be to have a note come up
on preview if format=template is used without link=none, reminding the user
that automatic linking is enabled.

Re-opening, just because it was designed that way doesn't mean its the best
design. The comments there don't address the concerns here and on the linked
discussion, that is, with the current design its impossible to disable it. I
don't really have an opinion myself, but if its going to be closed without any
change, the reason for closing should at least address the reason for opening.

I can't duplicate this problem; date validation works fine for me on
multiple-instance templates. Is this still an issue?

Jaska, thanks for your answer. I see you asked the Belarusian community, not
the English community.
I'm note entirely sure that is the right platform for questions about English
transliteration.
But until someone raises the topic again I will keep it like it is.

Best regards, Erik

[Bug 21923] New: The dump doesn't create temp directory

2009-12-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=21923

Summary: The dump doesn't create temp directory
   Product: MediaWiki extensions
   Version: any
  Platform: All
OS/Version: Windows XP
Status: NEW
  Severity: major
  Priority: Normal
 Component: DumpHTML
AssignedTo: tf...@wikimedia.org
ReportedBy: na...@coder.hu

I wanted to dump my wiki pages when I got the following error:

PHP Warning: file_put_contents(d:\Temp\wiki\temp\TEMP-88261655): failed to
open
stream: No such file or directory in
E:\Internet\honlapok\htdocs\mediawiki\exte
nsions\DumpHTML\dumpHTML.inc on line 552
Can't open file
'd:\Temp\wiki\articles\m\e\d\MediaWiki_PHP_jav├şt├ísok_437c.html
' for writing.
Check permissions or use another destination (-d).

I found the solution to. I didn't find where you create the temp directory, so
I
put the following line in dumpHTML.inc at line 550:

$this->mkdir("{$this->dest}\\temp");

It works but I have to delete the temp directory manually.

[Bug 21922] New: YAML output should quote asterisk when used as key

2009-12-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=21922

Summary: YAML output should quote asterisk when used as key
   Product: MediaWiki
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: All
   URL: http://de.wikipedia.org/w/api.php?titles=Nordsee&prop=ex
tlinks&action=query&format=yamlfm
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: Normal
 Component: API
AssignedTo: roan.katt...@gmail.com
ReportedBy: bjo...@hoehrmann.de
CC: bryan.tongm...@gmail.com, vasi...@gmail.com,
soxre...@gmail.com

In the API's YAML output, asterisks are used as keys without quoting them, for
example:

  extlinks:
-
  *: |
http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/North_Sea?uselang=de

This causes problems with some parsers (e.g. PyYAML), it should instead be
something like

  extlinks:
-
  '*': |
http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/North_Sea?uselang=de

I have tried my best to clean up possible misconceptions and to translate
correctly. In the reply to your request, some of 'qqq' messages are explained
more throughly. Few 'en' messages also were improved. Also, please read the
documentation carefully before the translating.
