An identical problem appears also in the Special:UserList, so it looks like a more general problem. The problem was detected also in in cs, de, fi, sv, ru. This version apparently does not features this bug. However, it is running on a different machine (PHP 5.2.12-pl0-gentoo). Red links can be useful, in that they tempt users to create a new article. Therefore, in some cases, we don't want to have a template causing an interwiki link to appear as unclickable text, or not to appear if the page doesn't exist; we just want the link to be red. We can implement such coloration via #ifexist as described at [[w:Wikipedia:Link_color#Making_links_appear_a_different_color_for_everyone]], but it would save keystrokes and simplify the markup just to have existence-detecting interwiki links. On e.g., the protected page (URL above) the edit links for the
trancluded {{:...}} page are gone. The user must look up which page is
trancluded, then edit that. Why not provide the edit link to save him
that trouble. He might not even be aware that he can still edit that
(part) of the page.
Here I have trancluded the current events page into the Main Page.
The result makes it seem that users are not allowed to edit the current events!
They have to realize this is a trancluded page, and find the original.
Or I must add a big explanation.
Or I must unprotect the Main page.
(If editing really is not desired, then trancluded pages should be
protected by the administrator too instead of security via obscurity.)
