This might be a duplicate Bug 12974 (that seems to be more to do with tables,
but probably same underlying issue)

"Recommended for modern browsers" needs to be either 1) removed, 2) renamed, or 3) set as the default, because presumably by the standards of whenever it was added, all browsers are modern by now . . . or if not, explain what "modern" means (not IE?). It would be nice to have them always displayed according to their inherent directionality: right-to-left if the language is right-to-left - Arabic, Urdu, Farsi, Hebrew, Yiddish, Divehi, etc., and left-to-right if it's not. The current wrong display is immediately noticeable, because according to http://www.omegawiki.org/Help:Definition , definition must end with a period, and the period appears in the wrong end of the sentence when the directionality of the definition is different from the directionality of the user's preferred language. It uses the Babel extension. Apparently the categorization that it uses is rather confusing. For example, i have "heb-5" and i am categorized as "User he-5" - three letters in the template, but two in the category. Some other users are currently categorized as "User heb", but if a null edit is made to their user page, it is re-categorized as "User he". This is confusing and wrong. It is certainly OK to support two-language codes, but the site should be able to control the categorization. Maybe the extension should simply categorize by the code used in the template. Hmm... so the logic on parsing would go roughly: * calculate the input hash * fetch 'math' table record - if no record, run texvc and save the new info into record - if record lists old version, run texvc and save the new info into record - if record lists current version, do nothing * return the HTML/MathML/img from the record, depending on output format After each texvc upgrade, this would cause a re-run of texvc for each unique ... contents as they're encountered in wiki page parsing. If the tweak for output hash is clever enough, this would save new versions of actually affected math bits -- cache-safe due to the new filename -- while non-affected math bits would save over the old file but not look any different, so no caching issues there. Sounds pretty good to me! I would expect that it would be automatically marked as read after i view it, but it stays unread even after i reply to it.
