JS preview doesn't load everything it needs, like the CSS. I don't understand
why the option to enable it is shown by default.

Thank you.
No, it's not deployed.
Comments on the rev comment: this bug is not about lowercase only; I don't
think that it can be a regression from r57064 because the pl.wiki example above
came 26 days before, when the last relevant deployed rev was r54429.

[Bug 24843] New: JavaScript preview doesn't work with source tag

2010-08-17 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=24843

   Summary: JavaScript preview doesn't work with source tag
   Product: MediaWiki
   Version: 1.16-svn
  Platform: All
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: Normal
 Component: Javascript
AssignedTo: d...@ucsc.edu
ReportedBy: e...@wp.pl
CC: tpars...@wikimedia.org

Steps:
1. Enable JavaScript preview.
2. To an empty page add something in a source tag e.g.

li[id^="pt-prefswitch-"],
li[id^="pt-optin-"]
{display:none !important}

3. Run preview.

Expected:
Same preview as without JS.

Result:
The text seem to be unparsed.

This is because geshi extension produces CSS for the language inside the
generated page and JS preview. You might say this is a bug in geshi, but geshi
works fine without JS and there might be more cases like that with other
extensions.

When a revision can't be found[1], Code Review just dumps you back into the

some sort of message explaining that the revision can't be found.

if i used a number, Its possible that it can be done so this is only for demo

[Bug 24837] New: LiquidThreads API namespaces don't include canonical key (breaking API change)

2010-08-17 Thread bugzilla-daemon

   Summary: LiquidThreads API namespaces don't include canonical
key (breaking API change)
   Product: MediaWiki extensions
   Version: any
  Platform: All
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
  Severity: major
  Priority: Normal
 Component: LiquidThreads

ReportedBy: b...@mzmcbride.com
CC: amil...@wikimedia.org, bhar...@wikimedia.org

[09:37] So I added localisation to LiquidThreads namespaces
[09:37] for some reason this added them to all wikis
[09:37]  which is hugely annoying
[09:38] some feature of the localisation cache

Now
http://en.wikipedia.org/w/api.php?action=query&meta=siteinfo&siprop=namespaces&format=jsonfm
isn't outputting "canonical" values for the new namespaces. E.g.,

"90": {
"id": 90,
"case": "first-letter",
"*": "Thread"
},

This breaks expected behavior for some scripts like Python wikitools, which
contain code like:

if ns != "0":
attr = "NS_%s" % (nsdata[ns]['canonical'].replace(' ',
'_').upper())
else:
attr = "NS_MAIN"

[Bug 23537] Migration of pt.wikimedia.org

2010-08-17 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=23537

--- Comment #10 from Waldir  2010-08-17 23:49:39 UTC ---
Just pointing out a detail that was mentioned on IRC: if the redirect could
work dynamically (i.e. to have deep links such as diffs, etc redirected to the
corresponding url in the new domain) that would be ideal. That is, something
like what currently we get if we type an url without the /wiki/ part.

This would prevent breaking links (from mailing list archives and elsewhere).

based on timing, perhaps related to Bug 19960 's fix.

As an interesting note,

(compared to the 1200px one which gives no error).

[Bug 24835] Compatibility anchors cause unnecessary tags

--- Comment #1 from Aryeh Gregor  2010-08-17

Fixed in r71215. When I wrote this code long ago, I based it on the way the
existing code looked, which IIRC was actually an tag, which did get put in
that silly paragraph. At some intervening point it changed. I made it a
as you suggested.

I didn't actually add a name attribute (see the diff). I assume there's some
magic in the parser or Sanitizer or something that adds it, I dunno. name on
 is conforming in HTML5, actually, although it raises a warning:

[Bug 24835] New: Compatibility anchors cause unnecessary tags

2010-08-17 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=24835

   Summary: Compatibility anchors cause unnecessary tags
   Product: MediaWiki
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: All
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: Normal
 Component: Page rendering
AssignedTo: wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org
ReportedBy: entli...@gmx-topmail.de

The compatibility anchors inserted when a header contains special characters
are wrapped in tags. The wikitext

== áàâ ==

is rendered as

áàâ

Why are the tags there? Probably because only block elements are allowed as
children of the bodytext. But these paragraphs can affect rendering because
they have top and bottom margins (which happen to collapse with other margins
most of the times, but not necessarily always).

I'd prefer one of the following:

áàâ

or

áàâ

Besides that, I don't see a reason for the name attribute? It is not valid in
HTML5 (looks quite odd if something that has been added because of HTML5 breaks
validation) and only needed by browsers of the Netscape 4 era. The real headers
don't have named anchors either, so that's rather pointless.

[Bug 24828] New: Show on Select fields - All divs's are parsed regardless of which one is selected.

2010-08-17 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=24828

   Summary: Show on Select fields - All divs's are parsed
regardless of which one is selected.
   Product: MediaWiki extensions
   Version: any
  Platform: All
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
  Severity: critical
  Priority: Normal
 Component: SemanticForms
AssignedTo: yaro...@gmail.com
ReportedBy: mitchell_ne...@hotmail.com

Hi.

I'm using SF 1.9.1. I have the following:

{| class="formtable"
! width=25%|Area Grouping:
| {{{field|Area Groups|default=None|show on select=None=>none;North and
East Hampshire=>ne_hampshire;West Hampshire=>w_hampshire;South East
Hampshire=>se_hampshire}}}
|}

{| class="formtable"
! width=10%|Areas:
| {{{field|Areas|input type=checkboxes|no autocomplete|property=Area|}}}
|}

{| class="formtable"
! width=10%|Areas:
| {{{field|Areas|input type=checkboxes|no
autocomplete|property=Area|default=Basingstoke & Deane Borough,Hart
District,East Hampshire District,Rushmoor District,North and East
Hampshire}}}
|}

{| class="formtable"
! width=10%|Areas:
| {{{field|Areas|input type=checkboxes|no
autocomplete|property=Area|default=New Forest District,Test
Valley,Eastleigh,Winchester City,West Hampshire}}}
|}

{| class="formtable"
! width=10%|Areas:
| {{{field|Areas|input type=checkboxes|no
autocomplete|property=Area|default=Havant Borough,Gosport Borough,
Fareham Borough,South East Hampshire}}}
|}

So, for example, if you select "North and East Hampshire", it correctly
defaults the areas to the ones specified in the ne_hampshire div.

However, it then seems to process the other divs regardless and ends up
setting the default= areas for w_hampshire, se_hampshire as well. When
you save the form you end up with ALL the default= property values in
all the div's set for the area property, not just the ne_hampshire ones.

This is obviously a major issue and has caused a massive data integrity
headache.

Thanks
Neill.

[Bug 24827] New: Mandatory fields busted if any input type=checkboxes field is set to mandatory

2010-08-17 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=24827

   Summary: Mandatory fields busted if any input type=checkboxes
field is set to mandatory
   Product: MediaWiki extensions
   Version: any
  Platform: All
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
  Severity: critical
  Priority: Normal
 Component: SemanticForms
AssignedTo: yaro...@gmail.com
ReportedBy: mitchell_ne...@hotmail.com
CC: wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org

I've found another case that breaks the mandatory fields functionality. If you
have input type=checkboxes and the field set mandatory then the form can be
saved if any of the mandatory fields are left blank.

This can be seen at:
http://scratchpad.referata.com/wiki/Mandatory_Field_Test

The Name, Title and Mandatory Test Property are set to be mandatory. However,
when you leave one or indeed all of them blank, the form can still be saved. If
you remove the "mandatory" from

! Mandatory Test Property:
| {{{field|Mandatory Test Property|input type=checkboxes|mandatory}}}

Then the form cannot be saved if Name or Title are left blank.

So to sum up so far. Mandatory field functionality get broken if you specify
mandatory on:

1. Hidden fields (not especially a problem).
2. Show on Select fields
3. Input type=checkboxes fields

I finished XMLRC, an extension implementing this:
. I have set up a demo on the
toolserver (fed by polling the API). You can join it at
enw...@conference.jabber.toolserver.org using any jabber client.

The human readable messages are similar to the ones send to the RC channels on
IRC, but there's extra XML payload in the messages, like this:

  [[List of Knight's Cross recipients: Z]]

http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?diff=378715833&rcid=389791968&oldid=378714319&title=List+of+Knight%27s+Cross+recipients%3A+Z
*
MisterBee1966 * (+1203) /* Recipients */

The extension includes a demo client in python.

For some reason I'm currently not able to give myself flood flag on Meta, where
I'm sysop, as I should: I've tried all spellings of the user name and also the
user id, I see the sysop flag checked and I can modify IP-block-exempt flag but
not flood flag.
It works for other sysops.
De-sysopping and re-sysopping didn't work.
Mercy said he had the same problem about a year ago on simple.wiki but it
disappeared suddenly after a while.

Hi Domas, thanks for pointing that out. I was actually requesting an HTTP
redirect, indeed. Sorry not being more clear. "Location: " is enough.

In the meantime, I developed a script to fetch all images based on imagelinks,
so no problem with images - which also means XML dump is good enough. I also
don't know how to do a full export with Special:Export, but it seems you
managed, so I'm downloading it right away.

I'll let you know when we're done.

Thanks for everything.

At a rough guess, someone (fairly recently, since we have lots of working ones)
set the thumbnailer to have a max size of one megapixel, forgetting it's used
on file description pages too.

1.5 or, if some extra leeway is desired, 2 megapixels should be ample to cover
all cases.

Sorry, I wasn't entirely clear:
The relevant preference is "Image Size Limit", which is what it's called on the
Preference page. The file description page uses the thumbnailer to generate the
image seen based on that preference, meaning that the maximum size the
thumbnailer can handle needs to be over 1280x1024, the highest option available
there.

I wasn't talking about failure because of memory limits, but because of
unsupported variants of tiff - codecs, etc. there's quite a few of those, check
out http://www.libtiff.org/images.html

Actually it won't. We use a different shell memory limit on the image scalers
compared to the main cluster.

I understand the issue, and I'll llook into libtiff for this. However, using
identify has one very important advantage: it will fail just in the cases where
convert/mogrify will fail. That is, it's a pretty good way to determine which
tiff files can actually be rendered, and which can't.
