I've just asked about exactly the same option at Wikipedia's Village Pump.
Given that for most editors, half or more of the edits will be in article
space, having a way of searching through all other spaces in one hit uld be a
definite boon. I'd certainly give this proposal a big thumbs up.

Sure. Null edits fix the links table, which means it just didn't work
originally for some reason.

I'm really unsure why refreshLinks.php (or edit.php for that matter) didn't
populate the links table.

iawiki has been attacked badly in the past days (as you can see here
http://ia.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Modificationes_recente) and it's a pain
for global sysops and stewards to clean it up. Having an abuse filter enabled
would really, really help us.

I know that we have no community desicion yet, but this is urgent and there
aren't many active users as well.

render is odd looking on Firefox 5.

The number of images shown in gallery mode is 48, which is OK, if four images
are shown in one row. It is not however, if three or five images fit to the
design's or window's width.

Is it possible to make the number of images adapt dynamically to the number of
imageas that can be shown in a row?

This is a main idea of this bug. As I said in comment 1:
"On one page we would like to have
all open threads and after closing the thread, we are going to move thread to
another archive-page (yes, we know that threads can be archived automatically,
but more clear situation is distinction on page with open threads and page with
archive threads). So placeholder stamp will be useless on page with open
threads."

The danish translation in
phase3/languages/messages/MessagesDa.php
contains the following string:

'suppressionlogtext' => 'Nedenfor listes de sletninger og blokeringer der er
skjult for almindelige systemadministratorer.Below is a list of deletions and
blocks involving content hidden from sysops.
Se [[Special:IPBlockList|IP blokeringslisten]] for alle blokeringer.',

I am not a Danish speaker, but it seems odd. :)

Currently there's "Save" and "Save & next unresolved". The latter sometimes
overwrites a state when someone changed it in the mean time or submits a
half-written comment. 

A button (that like Save&Next also uses the current path-query parameter) goes
to the next rev come in handy and would remove the need to open a bunch of tabs
from the overview page (ie. one goes to the oldest unresolved one and just go
one by one, also makes it easier to review with more people, when opening in
tabs the tab I see last may already be reviewed, when I then do Save&Next I
re-set to "new'.)

In my opinion, we should just normalize the absolute links to trim the slash as

The drop-down search function on the Alemannic Wikipedia (als.wikipedia.org)
only works while being on the recent changes page
(http://als.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spezial:Letschti_%C3%84nderige). On any other
page, the search engine will not display possible matches (even though it does
take you to the page if you press search).

SGML-type markup languages - whether XML, HTML, XHTML or whatever - do not
permit overlapping elements. Each element has an opening tag -  or  - some content, and a
closing tag - .

Closing tags never have identifiers, and always close the most recently opened
unclosed element. So, in this example, the first  closes the second 
(that with source="somwhere else"), and the second  closes the first
 (source="somewhere").

One problem I see with that, is that facts are often backed up with more than
one source. You end up with a complicated structure rather than a tree of
references. Take this for an example:

Statement with A as source. Statement with both A and B as source. Statement
with B as source.

There are two possible ways to interpret the following syntax:

Statement with A as source. Statement with both A and B as source. Statement with B as
source.

The  part has to include a name tag as well, or else you won't be able to
distinguish which references you are closing.


That being said, there is a nice GUI: highlight the referenced text when the
user hovers over its reference number.

Point of note, uses RIM's own crappy browser, not the Blackberry OS 6 Webkit
one.

That browser is not supported by jquery.

"TanakhIndex:Genesis" indeed links to "Tanakh:Genesis 1:1". Both
"TanakhIndex:Genesis" and "Tanakh:Genesis 1:1" were created by
maintenance/edit.php script.

I'm still not sure where that leaves the literally *thousands* of userscripts
on wikipedia. Are they all going to be converted to gadgets? Does everyone get
some sort of personal gadget control panel? Are stand-alone userscripts going
to be banned?

Sorry to aks so many questions, but it does help to understand how this
framework is envisioned, and the documentation isn't very helpfull in this
respect.

When I try to upload a file that already exists, ("There is another file
already on the site with the same content."), there is no possibility to go
back to upload a different file or do something else in the UploadWizard.

There is only one button "Retry failed uploads", which won't even work because
the content is still identical to the existing files.

Apart from that button, I can only either 1) leave the UploadWizard, 2) go back
to the upload wizard manually or 3) go to the already existing file, but I
cannot go back to upload a different file.

This is related to bug 27423.

I had two users, "VictorPorton" (admin) and "Victor Porton" (a normal user). I
used Renameuser extension to rename "VictorPorton" to "Admin".

When I did this the user "Victor Porton" disappeared. (I created it again
latter.)

The bug is that "Victor Porton" disappeared.

The bullet icon on bits.wikimedia.org is *still* the 24-bits version; all
bullets still show with a grey background in IE6. Can someone correct this?

I added the permission to edit Tanakh: namespace for the user Admin. I edited
http://www.withoutvowels.org/wiki/Tanakh:Genesis_1:1 and after this backlinks

work OK.

Can I now revert it and remove the permission to edit?

Example patch

Extension:WebChat (http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:WebChat) uses an
iFrame to display content, that is automatically resized to screen width.  This
forces the user to resize the browser to be unnecessarily wide. 

This is caused by /trunk/extensions/WebChat/WebChat_body.php, in function
execute().

The attachment shows a sample change on how to fix the problem. It changes the
iFrame width to 100%, letting the browser to resize the iFrame itself rather
than hacking it through Javascript.

A sample fix is found on StrategyWiki, and may be copied from there.
