[Bug 29640] New: need an easy way to see if a filename is in use via the API (including InstantCommons)
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=29640 Web browser: --- Bug #: 29640 Summary: need an easy way to see if a filename is in use via the API (including InstantCommons) Product: MediaWiki Version: unspecified Platform: All OS/Version: All Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: Unprioritized Component: API AssignedTo: roan.katt...@gmail.com ReportedBy: rkald...@wikimedia.org CC: bryan.tongm...@gmail.com, s...@reedyboy.net, soxre...@gmail.com, vasi...@gmail.com Classification: Unclassified Right now, it seems that the only way to check if a file name is already in use on Wikipedia is to do api.php?action=query&titles=&prop=imageinfo Then you have to do the following awkward test on the results: if ( !data.query.pages[-1] || data.query.pages[-1].imageinfo) { // image exists The reason for this is that the API returns a page id for a local image, or -1 for no image. However, it also returns -1 if it finds an image through InstantCommons. It would be nice if there was a simpler way to do this. Maybe prop=filenameinuse that just returns true or false. There are two uses for this: 1) Making sure that an image someone wants to use for something on-wiki actually exists before they use it. 2) Making sure that uploading scripts don't upload over other files. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Wikibugs-l mailing list Wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l

https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=29021 --- Comment #9 from Bawolff 2011-06-29 05:21:42 UTC --- For comment 2, I'm confused. As far as I can tell the protection in that instance expired on the 24th, and the first anon edit after that protection event was on the 25th. (The diff shows an edit before that protection was applied, I think. RTL interfaces are confusing for feeble minded people like me used to LTR). https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=29153 --- Comment #38 from Asher Feldman 2011-06-29 00:40:41 UTC --- All of the example screenshots point to the secure gateway which is a single proxy server that doesn't handle some relative urls correctly. It's being replaced with a much better solution that will enable https:// on actual wiki domain names. Once that has been rolled out, it may solve this. Any issue with css not loading from standard http wikis is likely a different issue but this ticket doesn't currently contain information that would help track it down. I created a gadget that uses the latter but the problem with it is that it's currently not very usable. What it does is this: * Adds an "update" tab to #contentSub * Scraps html for reponame (#contentSub a:first .text()) * action=query&list=coderevisions limit=1 to get last checked out rev id * display dropdown menu with [1,5,10,25,50,100]. * When submitting the form add the chosen number to lastRevId and make a post request to action=codeupdate&repo=reponame&rev=calculatedrevid * Problem: If the rev is too high it fails and does nothing so we end up updating 1 rev at a time untill it throws an error... A way to do action=codeupdate&rev=HEAD (or something like that) would be much appreciated. svnImport.php does pull it off, so perhaps that system can be re-used, copied or invoked. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. [Bug 28626] JS syntax errors should not affect other modules in a load.php request
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=28626 --- Comment #17 from Krinkle 2011-06-28 23:32:59 UTC --- Just for the record, having a JSLint or JSHint (that is GPL) compatible in PHP doesn't (directly) help this bug getting fixed. Many lints and hints are good practices or could cause constructions not to work, or exceptions to be thrown. But just checking syntax errors probably requires a different (possibly simpler) kind of validator. This could be derived from JSHint or JSLint-ish tools, though. But the kind of thing we should probably check for: * Unclosed braces, brackets, quotes, apostrophes and parentheses. * Closing too many of the above. * Anything else ? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Wikibugs-l mailing list Wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l

There are two actions of adding new sequences: array( 'addSequence', 'logging_log_id_seq' ), array( 'addSequence', 'page_restrictions_pr_id_seq' ), However, after that, it's specified to rename existing sequences to those very names: array( 'renameSequence', 'log_log_id_seq', 'logging_log_id_seq' ), array( 'renameSequence', 'pr_id_val', 'page_restrictions_pr_id_seq' ), Since the updater just created logging_log_id_seq, trying to rename log_log_id_seq to logging_log_id_seq fails. I commented out the top two lines, dropped the sequence logging_log_id_seq that had been created, and now my update runs correctly, and the old sequence gets a new name. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. [Bug 29624] WikiLove extension user input doesn't persist through selection changes
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=29624 Ryan Kaldari changed: What|Removed |Added Status|REOPENED|RESOLVED Resolution||FIXED --- Comment #4 from Ryan Kaldari 2011-06-28 21:57:06 UTC --- This isn't practically possible since those awards have preset titles and/or headers. Otherwise when you switch back to Make Your Own, you would see "The Original Barnstar" as the title. It's important to understand that the WikiLove extension is completely unaware of award types. These are just arbitrarily constructed in the config. Each award is simply a collection of 0-4 fields, preset values, and a template to plug the values into. Make Your Own isn't a special type. It's constructed in the same way as the other awards. It just happens to surface all the fields and not have any preset values. The idea is that the community could throw out all of our awards if they want to and create entirely new awards and award types for their particular wiki without having to ask any developers. The content of the tool is 100% configurable. Since Barnstars and Kittens have preset title and/or header fields, I don't think it makes sense for these to be persistent actually. Personally, I think only the message field should be persistent since it is never preset (although theoretically it could be). In addition, it is the most likely field to not be customized in some way by the user in relation to the specific award. If I set the title of my Make Your Own award to "A Giant Pink Unicorn", this isn't going to make sense if I switch it to Kitten or Cheeseburger and it still says "A Giant Pink Unicorn". Same for vice-versa. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Wikibugs-l mailing list Wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l

[Bug 29626] Qunit test for mw.loader fails in Konqueror
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=29626 --- Comment #1 from Brion Vibber 2011-06-28 21:29:59 UTC --- Can confirm this with KDE 3.5.10 (OpenSuSE 11.1 LiveCD), but not with KDE 4.6.0 (OpenSuSE 11.4 LiveCD) -- there all tests run clean. Is it worth cleaning up after an obsolete version of Konqueror? In KDE 3.5.10, the loader test appears to load up the .js file ok but doesn't fire the callback given to mw.loader.using(). Not sure the exact cause -- I'm not sure exactly where the callbacks happen in there -- but it sounds hard to debug with old Konqueror's lack of a debug console. In KDE 3.5.10, the table sort test seems to fail because String.toLowerCase() doesn't appear to work properly on accented characters -- the sort string 'Äpfel' should get lowercased to 'äpfel', then the regex should take the matched 'ä', find it in its map, and return the matching 'ae'. Instead it's staying as 'Äpfel' and looking for 'Ä' in the map, which isn't there. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Wikibugs-l mailing list Wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l

I'm re-opening for one minor quirk that remains in "make your own" mode. If you go to "make your own" and input a custom header or input a custom image and then switch to another type (such as "Kittens" or "Barnstars"), your input in the "make your own" selection for just those two fields still gets eaten. Message text and title persist through selection changes beautifully now, but losing a custom image input and custom header in "make your own" should be avoided, if possible. First, we added a new file: http://he.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mediawiki:Handheld.css Adding the file was not a problem, but it does not seem that the handheld devices actually load it. the documentation for $wgHandheldStyle actually says that not all handhelds will load this file. it seem that the only css loaded on hebrew wikipedia for mobiles/handhelds is: http://he.m.wikipedia.org/stylesheets/default.css however, nobody in he wiki has the permissions required to edit this file. so: again, if you are not the right person to ask this - apologies if there is some magic incantation by which we can gain control over our handheld-css - we'll be thrilled to learn. failing that, could you please add the following to our css (whatever it mab be)? .wpAbbreviation:after { content: " (" attr(title) ")"; } abbr.wpAbbreviation { border: none;} (these two lines will help us deal with "abbreviations", which behave differently, as the abbr actually rely on the tooltip, and many handhelds can't deal with tooltips). peace, קיפודנחש 21:19, 26 June 2011 (UTC) More קיפודנחש21:19, 26 June 2011 -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Wikibugs-l mailing list Wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l

[Bug 26065] Upload wizard doesn't allow batch editing of files uploaded together
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=26065 Nemo_bis changed: What|Removed |Added CC||federicol...@tiscali.it --- Comment #5 from Nemo_bis 2011-06-28 19:11:25 UTC --- I think this feature should be added as well, otherwise there's not much point in multiple upload: if you're uploading multiple files in a batch it means that they probably have something in common. With the standard interface you can copy and paste everything and modify the relevant part, with UploadWizard you have to manually re-add everything except the license and this is very time consuming. A simpler solution would be to add a button to copy the specified field (the title, the description, the category, or all of them) to all other files, or to copy it from the previous file, and then allow to modify them (but if you copy and don't modify the title you run into bug 28921). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Wikibugs-l mailing list Wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l

This bug should no longer happen on categories > with less than 200 pages in them, and 63 < 200. I see why. We don't refresh the cat counts if everything is 0 (or specifically if everything is right except for the images, and the image section is really 0 or >200). This behaviour is kind of weird (Also, we only check if a specific section is correct, which could result in recounting a 20 big category if it only happens to have 5 images in it, and the image count is wrong) [this all seems kind of wrong, but off topic to this bug so I'll stop talking about that and eiter fix it or split it off to some other bug] Anyhow, the upshot of all this is - If you add a single image to that category, view that category page (this is the important part, you need to view the category page while it has the single image in it), and then remove that image from the category, it will probably reset the number of files in that category count - no shell required. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug.
