The current German translation for datatype email ($m_DatatypeLabels) should be
changed to "E-Mail" ('_ema' => 'Email' → '_ema' => 'E-Mail'). For compatibility
reasons I suggest to additionally set an alias ($m_DatatypeAliases) 'Email' =>
'_ema',
This change cannot be done via translatewiki.net Additionally I think that the
developers should take a peep at this.

And it's throwing errors to the console and even knows the line number within the wiki script. All awesome, but.. It's another thing to actually get those line numbers. I'm suggesting that on pages that are "isCssOrJsPage" or "isCssJsSubpage" (according to their respective methods in the Title-object), improved by showing line numbers at the beginning. We already give them special treatment by wrapping the page in and not parsing the text. This may be hairier than it sounds:
* whether the appropriate thing to use is or {{reflist}} or
something else would need to be configurable somehow
* the name of the ==References== section would have to be similarly
configurable (and translatable)
* it's not entirely clear where the references list and section should be
added. If you look at

, the References section is not the last section on the page, and there's a
bunch of invisible (language links, categories) and visible (various navigation
boxes) things below the last section even. A dumb append to the bottom might be

So I decided to investigate further... After some debugging I traced the problem to a difference in the SDAppliedFilter instance that gets created when using a combo box to enter filter values versus the standard list of values input type - I was seeing, for example, "Singer & Songwriter" in the first case, and "Singer & Songwriter" in the second. Traced the cause of this to SD_AppliedFilter.php line 21, where the value of the _search_ parameter gets htmlspecialchars run on it. Removing this call fixed the problem with ampersands. I come from Tamil wiki(hardly 3-4 developers who occasionally visit and dont necessarily keep track of mw development.) where there are huge gaps technically. Probably a Wikimailer to all sysops to convert the gadgets / scripts they use to use ResourceLoader might atleast create awareness and they could then take help of local developers to migrate the tools. Even a quarterly update mailer to language wiki sysops might help. I know atleast 10 language wikis which use older HotCat for instance.
