[Bug 34358] Locale-specific sorting in Arrays extension
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=34358 --- Comment #2 from Daniel Werner 2012-02-13 23:51:04 UTC --- If we want to make locale as default in Version 2.0 (with compatibility mode active not enabling it at all), I would use "nolocale" to deactivate the behavior. > {{ #arraysort: key | asc nolocale }} I have thought about implementing further flags like "case-insensitive" or "natural" for natsort() I am just wondering about SORT_LOCALE_STRING, what exactly does it do besides case-insensitive sorting (in some languages?). Right now I don't feel too comfortable making this default with knowing so little (it's not that well documented). Also, what about natsort() for example, why is there no parameter for this key, or is it even always enabled for natsort() ? There is a natcasesort() too so if the key does nothing than changing case-sensitivity, 'asc case-sensitive' might be more appropriate than 'nolocale' here. So if nobody can answer these questions, I'd do some testing by myself first before properly implementing such a flag system. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. We want to be able to click the to toggle (or press enter while it is focused), so that can't be prevented. I can think of a few solutions: * Don't prevent elements (is this prevention needed anywhere?) * Add a parameter allowLinkAsTarget * Add a class to $that element to indicate that links (i.e. .mw-collapsible-toggle.mw-collapsible-allow-link) * Add a new function which doesn't prevent elements Also, as a note: We'll need to change the HTML to only have *one* for both images, since we don't want to focus the when the page loads (the toggling function is performed once). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. [Bug 34384] New: Ability to specify default value for Semantic Search "further results" page.
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=34384 Web browser: --- Bug #: 34384 Summary: Ability to specify default value for Semantic Search "further results" page. Product: MediaWiki extensions Version: any Platform: All OS/Version: All Status: NEW Severity: enhancement Priority: Unprioritized Component: Semantic MediaWiki AssignedTo: wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org ReportedBy: alexmtak...@gmail.com CC: jeroen_ded...@yahoo.com, mar...@semantic-mediawiki.org Classification: Unclassified When using the #ask parser function, one can specify the limit parameter. This parameter defines how many results to display. If the number of actual results exceeds this value, a link appears called "further results". One can click this link and see the "semantic Search" page, with a listing of all the results. This "further results" page receives the limit parameter from the initial #ask query, and the results on the "Semantic Search" page are also limited by this value. To view more per page, the user is required to select a value at the top of the page, like 100 or 500. A valuable enhancement would be the ability to specify two limit values: one for the initial display, and one for the "further results" page. This way, the user isn't required to make an extra click; the administrator can set the default value to a large number, while keeping the initial #ask query limited. In some situations where the number of results is large, it can be preferable to display a very limited amount of them on the page of the #ask query, but display all of them at once on the "further results" page. In this situation it is a better experience for the user to not have to look for the "# to display per page" values, and simply be presented with all the results. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. At the moment it is active in more than 400 wmf projects. Today I went to some page on ru.wikibooks.org and uz.wikiquote.org (Special:RenameUser to be precise). Usually I only need to change the settings to my language when I enter a new site where I haven't been before. But this time something went wrong. I was told, that I'm not allowed to call this page, then I mentioned I wasn't logged in. So I tried to login, but I was told, that my password was wrong. On ru.wikibooks.org I was able to request a temporary password, and I was also able to merge this account into my SUL. But on uz.wikiquote.org I was told, that there is no email address attached to this account thus I'm not able to merge this account into my SUL. Two requests: 1. Please try to find out what went wrong (server problem? database problem?) 2. Please add my bugzilla address to this local account that I'm able to get a temporary password. https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=34359 --- Comment #11 from Jeroen De Dauw 2012-02-13 19:53:16 UTC --- I made some follow up changes in r111407. For some reason the "Is a new page" property refuses to show up for me, either as result of a query, on Special:Browse or via the RDF export. The property itself shows on special browse, but the value does not. I tried debugging this and looked at the difference between this property and another one of type boolean. At some point this is done: $values = $data->getPropertyValues( $diProperty ); For a regular boolean property, $values will be an array with a SMWDIBool (or more, depending on how many you have set). For "Is a new page" the array is empty. So then I dumped the $data object to see what's in there, and the list where getPropertyValues is empty, until after getPropertyValues is called. wtf?? I looked at this for about 10 mins, and all I see is magically appearing data while nothing is modifying the field where it's stored. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Wikibugs-l mailing list Wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l

[Bug 34377] New: action=watch parses message using "API" instead of the page being watched or unwatched
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=34377 Web browser: --- Bug #: 34377 Summary: action=watch parses message using "API" instead of the page being watched or unwatched Product: MediaWiki Version: 1.19-svn Platform: All OS/Version: All Status: NEW Keywords: need-review, patch Severity: normal Priority: Unprioritized Component: API AssignedTo: wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org ReportedBy: b-jor...@alum.northwestern.edu CC: bryan.tongm...@gmail.com, roan.katt...@gmail.com, s...@reedyboy.net, soxre...@gmail.com Classification: Unclassified Created attachment 10002 --> https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/attachment.cgi?id=10002 Patch to set $wgTitle so action=watch parses messages correctly. The API's action=watch parses MediaWiki:Addedwatchtext or MediaWiki:Removedwatchtext (as appropriate) and returns it as "message" in the response. However, when these messages are parsed they are parsed with the current page set to "API" rather than the page being watched or unwatched, which means that magic words such as {{NAMESPACE}} or {{TALKSPACE}} will return the wrong value. [[en:MediaWiki:Addedwatchtext]], for example, uses these magic words to provide a better response to the user when watch is used on a talk page. The problem seems easy enough to fix: since wfMsgExt doesn't pass a title, MessageCache uses $wgTitle. So if we just set $wgTitle appropriately from the API's watch module, everything works as it should. As a workaround, affected wikis can use {{NAMESPACE:$1}} and the like in their messages. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. You may want to get in touch with Wikibooks and Wikisource communities through their mailing lists and Village Pumps, asking for any feedback which may help you on this task (such as identifying other requirements not yet mentioned here on bugzilla). So, here are some useful links: == Wikibooks == * Mailing List: https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/textbook-l * English Project: https://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Wikibooks:Reading_room/Technical_Assistance == Wikisource == * Mailing List: https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikisource-l * English Project: https://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Wikisource:Scriptorium * Multilingual project: https://wikisource.org/wiki/Wikisource:Scriptorium Maybe it would be better to have a central place where editors from all projects could participate in the discussion (since not everybody has a bugzilla account or is subscribed to the mailing lists). I have gone through the links and documentation related with this issue. Based on that, I have come up with an initial list of deliverables. The project needs to implement following set of features: 1 Create a book 2 Page addition wizard (also containing search filters for finding particular pages) 3 Import book metadata (my suggestion where user can directly add set of pages from his export list) 4 Export book metadata (export the book details containing all page links to a file which can be saved by user, similar to MetaBooks) 5 Add to a book option for every page 6 Table of contents for a book 7 Read a book 8 Recent changes for each book 9 Create chapters 10 Manage book: - Arrange order of pages in a book - Protect/watchlist/move/delete all pages 11 List books 12 Search for a book 13 Search in a book ..(any more which would be required) I have installed the Collection and BookManager extensions and am going through their code base. I would like to ask if it is possible to reuse the existing functionalities from the extensions (ex. Book and chapter creation from Collection, navigation from BookManager, book listing from AllBooks, etc) and extend them to add the rest of features over these functionalities. Secondly, going through http://en.wikibooks.org/w/index.php?title=Wikibooks:Reading_room/Feature_requests&oldid=1230990#How_to_represent_books_in_the_database suggests multiple ways of implementing the backend. It would be great if someone could guide what would be considered the most suitable way of storing the book metadata. Figuring out these basics and a proper scope would enable me to go more in depth and think from implementation perspective. [Bug 34359] SemanticMediaWiki: New page properties: "Last editor is" and "Is a new page".
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=34359 Markus Krötzsch changed: What|Removed |Added Status|VERIFIED|REOPENED Resolution|FIXED | --- Comment #9 from Markus Krötzsch 2012-02-13 17:13:15 UTC --- The current code does not seem to work quite right. I do not actually get either of the new properties, even after enabling them in LocalSettings. This might be a local issue for me that has other reasons. However, in addition, it seems that the properties are set to the previous value since they are fetched before storing the (possibly new) page in MediaWiki. So the "last" editor is only the one that was last before saving, i.e., the one before the current one. For new pages, there should never be a value. Also, it should be checked if the properties are stable when running the SMW_refreshData.php update script (same as using an update job, but easier to target a particular page). It could be that this does not work for '_NEWP'. Nevertheless, great work, since these new properties will be very useful for maintenance (I imagine using _NEWP and _MDAT to make a list of candidate pages for spam fighting with the Delete Batch extension; many spam bots create pages that are never edited again for a long time). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Wikibugs-l mailing list Wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l
