The WMF report preempted any effort that the research team would have made, aThe volunteer research team was never supplied with the original data extractions that were requested from the WMF. The WMF was asked to provide legal, technical (a survey software solution), and some math extrapolations. The next thing the volunteer team knew was that the WMF had published a complete summary and its interpretation of the survey results. The original research team was not involved in any way at all with the elaboration of this report and was not invited to collaborate on it. I just spent the past 16-20hrs in getting the install done even though I had python and msysgit already installed. Windows users *don't like* having to go through CLIs. Maybe modify tortoisegit for this, since that is nice but doesn't work with git review. In case that it is not correct, two notes: I would be careful of diagnosing from the counts. There are only half a dozen Admins who close most of the DRs. I know that I have cleared many fewer -- hundreds, perhaps as many as several thousand -- DRs than I would have if this bug were not slowing me down. I would not be surprised if my colleagues have also slowed down or stopped doing DRs. That is certainly evident from the backlog. Note, again, that this a new problem in the last six weeks or eight weeks. I would look for some change around February 1 as the cause. The volunteer research team was never supplied with the original data extractions that were requested from the WMF. Anyone who still wanted to do any research wasn't given the data. The WMF was asked to provide legal, technical (a survey software solution), and some math extrapolations. The next thing the volunteer team knew was that the WMF had published a complete summary and its interpretation of the survey results. Instead of immediately giving the volunteer team the resources and data they asked for -- so the volunteers could form their own conclusions -- the WMF went ahead and published its own opinion. The original research team was not involved in any way at all with the elaboration of this report and was not invited to collaborate on it. Among other reasons, the delays were explained as being due to contractors being overworked, lack of funds, and other developmental priorities. The explanation the WMF offered reflected the reality of the limited resources a non-profit has. Hmm, there are bugs related to {{#expr not supporting localized numbers that
were wontfixed, so I'm not sure if its appropriate to fix it here. Otoh, fixing
this doesn't have some of the insanity that #expr would have.
Note, technically the thumbtime parameter is handled in oggHandler extension,
not core, but leaving as a core bug since none of the image parameters support
localized digits. For example, [[file:Example.png|۵۰px]] doesn't work as far as
I can tell.

In 2010 I repeated the proposal (http://cs.wikinews.org/wiki/Wikizpr%C3%A1vy:V_redakci/02#Dal.C5.A1.C3.AD_n.C3.A1m.C4.9Bty), where nobody objected and one another person agreed (2-0). Overall the members of our tiny community voiced their opinions three times in favor and once more against (but he did not repeated his objection when I asked again...). Hop into your browser and browse the wiki/index.php you just created. At the very least that should be and browse to the wiki/index.php (I associate browsing an item requires it to be a directory, or something which at least has lots of choices). Additionally the user didn't create that file, tar did. I have attached a patch to 1.17.3 that replaces $expiration and uses it to set
$this-mEmailTokenExpires again. (It will be offset by a few lines on the
branch due to other local patches.)
I do not have later versions around right now, but $expiration is likely still
used by the parent function to display the expiry time in the email address,
and so this should be fixed in 1.18, 1.19 and SVN. It might break the sending
of the email, depending on the impact of $wgLang-{timeanddate|date|time}(null,
false).

One of the problems with making the forms resizable is that it's possible for a user to accidentally obscure key form elements and not know how to undo them. So if your browser window is small, the flyover panel doesn't appear at all because it's below the fold. And if your browser window is large, the flyover panel appears way above the 'X' button. See attached screenshot for a mid-size window, where the flyover panel is right on top of the Close 'X' button. I cannot reproduce this issue with Option A, because it's at the top of the page. {{nse:Something that is not a namespace}} triggers a php warning, since
{{nse:Something not a namespace}} calls CoreParserFunctions::ns( $parser,
something not a namespace ) (the same function that handles {{ns:...}}, which
in case of not getting a valid namespace will return an array to specify
failure to the parser. However nse assumes it always succedes (and thus always
returns a string), so it passes the return value directly to urlencode.
nse needs to be changed to check that CoreParserFunctions::ns returns a string
before trying to urlencode it. If it gets something back that is not a string
it should return the result immediately without processing it further.
Relevant warning generated:

For the other formats, I really fail to see how having such functions would be useful. What would be a meaningful way to compute the max of a string?
