Since the request for jquery/mediawiki is blocking, we can just put the
contents of startUp() after the load without needing the function.
This doesn't work right away though, due to the mw.loader.state() call. Because
if that is called before the registry is created it will create null-modules
with those names, causing an exception when the real registry is inserted.

Some other ideas like heavier promotion of the tech blog and a tech specific newsletter were discussed - but the developers in IRC requesting this (mostly loosely engaged developers) this generally preferred email. I can respect that folks don't have the time or inbox space to keep up with wikitech-l, but also want to know more about the growing Wikimedia developer community than mediawiki-a allows for. The four listed are the coordinators and folks involved with maintaining that page. There are 10+ folks involved via IRC (include at least two WMF staffers) and more than that interested in LGBT events at Wikimania (such as the scheduled LGBT meetup). We're also working on a grant to put some outreach ideas into action. At least one grant for this purpose was previously approved. I'm not sure how LGBT outreach isn't topical. Regional LGBT outreach would be, in my opinion, a mistake and out of form with what's been done successfully by other global efforts. We'd then just need another list to house the global conversations we have now (participants are currently in US, EU and India). There are already project-specific LGBT projects, this is an attempt to coordinate those efforts cross-wiki and do broader Wikimedia LGBT outreach rather than just the usual English Wikipedia outreach that's been done for the LGBT communities. So I'm not sure what the advantages of a regional or "topical" list would be.. I'm confident we could easily get a few dozen folks on this list fairly quickly. Not having it ready before Wikimania would be a disappointment and hinderance. The table is purged after 30 days (at least on enwiki), so a database query now would be useful to preserve a comprehensive record for future analysis, even if your current focus is on logging within the current code. For example, the rough SQL below should identify most duplicate or edit-conflicting rows in recentchanges: * including edit/create entries which have a prior byte length of zero or null * but excluding possible page creates (where there is no recent prior edit/create) * and excluding possible unblanked pages (where there exists any recent edit with a new byte length of zero, or there is no recent prior edit). As described in the commit summary, the real fix will be to remove entity decoding in the tokenizer, and move it to a token stream transformer instead. This will give us 'html_entity' tokens which we can escape properly without having to escape all '&' characters that are not part of html entities. Until then it makes little sense to escape ampersands on plain text content since those ampersands that are actually part of entities are already decoded by the tokenizer at that stage, so would not be matched. I know this isn't supposed to work yet, that's why it's in the bug tracker to
track. :D
Steps to repro:
* create new page using classic editor
* include {{Template:Warningbox|this template does not exist}}
* save
* open in visual editor
* edit some other part of the page so it is ready to save
* save
Expected results:
* broken template link should display in edit mode
* no change to page after save except for whatever you typed
Actual results:
* template link is invisible in edit mode
* template link is just gone after saving
