geopages and geopagesincategory are currently intentionally disabled on WMF
sites due to product goal changes. Extending the existing modules via hooks is
indeed a more sane way, however in this particular case it's impossible because
it requires access to some protected ApiQueryBase functions.

In fact, you get duplicates for as many instances of the property being set.
So if the property is set in 5 places in the wiki, then you get 5 duplicates in
the auto complete.

Hi.

I'm running SMW 1.8 bundle with SMWSQLStore3 on MW 1.19.3.

I've noticed that you can no longer have MW links or images in text property
fields.

I have a form field:

! Comment:

Template contains:
! Comment
| [[Comment::{{{comment|}}}]]

Comment is a text property.

Examples of broken behaviour:

If you have [http://news.bbc.co.uk BBC News] in the field, it results in
[[Comment::BBC News]] being displayed instead of the link.

If you have [[Advice Page|My Advice]] in the field, it results in
[[Comment::Advice Page]] being displayed instead of the link.

If you have [[File:Open 24x24.png|link=Advice Page]] in the field, it results
in
[[Comment::Open 24x24.png]] being displayed instead of the image.

If you have [mailto:j...@bloggs.com|j...@bloggs.com] in the field, it results in
[[Comment::[1]] being displayed instead of the email link.

So users can no longer put external links, internal links, images, files or
email links into text fields.

This works fine on 1.17.1 with SMWSQLStore2, so this is a very major
regression. The problem is SMWSQLStore3 is the default out of the box now and
also, once you upgrade an existing site to SMWSQLStore3 there is no going back.

I assume this will get addressed in the new SMW 1.8.1 release?

Sorry for not having followed up on that issue. Here is a summary I have posted
on Gerrit change #31580 which is based off a discussion we had in a restricted
mailing list:

It is not reasonable for us to handle different thumbnail sizes per wiki for
the following reasons:
- we keep thumbnails forever currently, the more we have the more disk space it
takes
- different sizes lower the cache hit rate which in turns cause...
- ... a CPU cost on the cluster to generate a thumbnail, varying the sizes
cause more and more thumbnails generations
- whenever a file is updated, we have to purge each thumbnails ever generated

The consensus among the engineering team is to standardize the thumbnails to a
few well known formats and have the scaling being done by the web browser.  We
could let the mobile clients scale up small thumbnails (to save bandwidth) and
desktop scale down larger thumbnails (to get nicer pictures).

So I am sorry to say it, but that changes will not land on the live cluster.

I'm pretty sure this won't be helpful. However the following is new to me and
explains a lot (like people calling me an idiot because they see the right
image but I don't). Currently when I load these thumbnails:

and press F5 multiple times, sometimes it shows the old version and sometimes
the new. Obviously this is an effect of the load balancer. I would be happy to
give you more information but tracert always outputs the same (see comment 29).

You are right, there are a lot of things to do:

a) Stop all this from happening. If there are multiple causes it's *your* job
to split this into multiple reports. We (the users) can't do this. All we see
is random garbage.
b) Fix the broken thumbnails.
c) Fix the broken original size images.
d) Give us one or more tools to fix this ourself. None of the ideas above
works, not adding a random parameter to the thumbnail URL, not the
/thumb.php?... call.

The message pagetriage-del-talk-page-notify-summary is apparently only used in
the javascript side:

modules/ext.pageTriage.views.toolbar/ext.pageTriage.delete.js:719:
 'summary': mw.msg( 'pagetriage-del-talk-page-notify-summary', pageName ),

Maybe pageName is an object or mw.msg has some serious bug :-D

Solved by setting $wgGroupPermissions['*']['read'] from FALSE to TRUE.
I hope there will be the possibility to have it FALSE in the future :)

I believe adding illogical nowiki markup is somewhat irritating to existing
editors.

Perhaps a simple solution: Is there any justification for the tokenizer to
consider an opening [ as a token? I believe only [http://, [https://, [irc://,
[ircs://, [ftp://, [news://, [mailto: and [gopher:// should be external link
tokens.

This happens when trying to use the PropertyValueSnak::newFromPropertyValue()
static function, which references the repo-specific EntityContentFactory.

We ought to find a way to implement that function without referencing
repo-specific stuff.

This is permitted by the JSON Schema draft v3:

Nevertheless, this bug is valid, because:
1) Client-side and server-side validation should behave the same way
