This is not really a problem that affects enwp. If my SQL is right, enwp has
only 14 dab pages that transclude mainspace - easily a manual fixup task, esp.
when some look of them look like this:

ZeroRatedMobileAccess sets hooks based on a boolean configuration variable.
Obviously you can't do that from the file scope. It should instead have the
configuration variable checks inside unconditionally-registered hook functions,
e.g.:

But most of the content of zero's onCanonicalNamespaces() can be in the file
scope. For example:

This can just be in the file scope. It's harmless to configure a non-existent
namespace. There definitely shouldn't be global variable assignments in a
CanonicalNamespaces hook handler. It's not guaranteed that the hook will be
called before the variables are accessed. What's guaranteed is that there will
be no hook calls between execution of the file scope and setting of the
configuration variables so you can reference configuration globals from hook
functions with confidence.

Well, the main reason why I opened this bug, was because I want to disable web
fonts for the languages where I have a font installed, as otherwise the
characters from other languages are invisible for a short time (time between
the font is set and downloaded). On long pages like [[de:Deutschland]] this may
take some seconds (look at the interlanguage links, some of them will disappear
and re-appear). But I agree with you that adding more complex options for all
users isn't a good solution, too.
IMHO this bug can be closed if you provide a documentation for advanced users
about how to use the JavaScript methods, either to write a user script/gadget
or to set fonts via a JavaScript console. I just used
mw.loader.using('ext.uls.webfonts', function () {
mw.webfonts.preferences.load();
mw.webfonts.preferences.setFont('bpy', 'system');
mw.webfonts.preferences.save();
});
but I'm not sure whether this is the right way to do it.

that the parameters for templates should be in the recommended order not
alphabetical order.

The normal block message is only shown to the user who is affected by the block, correct? As far as I am aware no one can find out whether an IP address is blocked via an autoblock anymore if you don't have the block ID, which is very bad imho. We can only find out by performing a CU on people and I would that is way more of a breach of the privacy policy then this ever was. You only saw that an IP was blocked, not *when* it was blocked, *by who*, *why* or *who else* used that IP. As said, you can't find out without knowing the block ID. You could of course try to unblock it, but if you don't want it to unblocked I don't think that's a good idea. I saw that some people said that it wasn't consistent; that it wasn't mentioned on the block log or the block list (only the block ID of autoblocked IPs are mentioned there). Of course they aren't mentioned there. If they would, you could easily see which IP matches which user. With this tiny bug (which I wouldn't call a bug) you only saw that an IP was blocked, but only if you knew the IP. Otherwise it was impossible to find a 'match'. Anyway, I think this should be reversed - it helped us with our work and it was in no way a breach of the privacy policy. One more thing I would like to say: all people who opposed here are very active users. It seemed to me that you would listen to them; after all we are the ones who should work with all tools. Talk to us and communicate. And not just implement a change.
