This takes you to the topic but doesn't highlight the post. The same URL
appears twice.  The _post_ link within the notification is

, doesn't highlight the post to which the person replied.


If I right-click a topic permalink and open in a new tab or copy the link,

There's no detailed spec for how these work, but it seems to me they should be

Puh, this is too hard to look through (roadmap of version 1.22 was linked
above).
I think there should be some improvement in transparency regarding the whole
process. How do I see whether a patch was deployed or not?

I discovered today that the cleanupUploadStash.php job on terbium has been
failing for a while and we've accumulated 5T of data in temp containers.

There was a "missing /a" issue that was breaking foreachwiki, which I worked
around. However, when I run cleanupUploadStash.php now, I get the following

being read-only, so that I can better assess if I should try to make changes

If I right-click on a post's pencil icon and open in new tab (or copy the link
and paste it), the URL is like


There are some issues with this
* page title doesn't say I'm editing
* no link back to the topic or to the board
* the Save button looks different, it is blue and says [Submit changes]
* after clicking this I see the updated post in context in its topic (good),
but the timestamp on the post remains 10 hours ago

(editing posts in-place is broken on ee-flow right now, there may be other
dissimilarities)

I'm giving this minor severity since normally you edit a post in-place within a
topic; but unless we preclude viewing and acting on posts in isolation, it
needs greater consistency.

Not a problem with MWSearch/lsearchd or really with Cirrus either (moving to
core as it's more relevant there, I suppose).

To get this desired result (case-insensitive search redirection) you'll need to
install the TitleKey extension. In an ideal world we should probably move
TitleKey to core.

This should probably be marked INVALID as it's not really a bug?

There have been no new arguments provided to reopen this ticket. 
Comment 46 and comment 47 have not been answered.

In general, maintainers of projects are free to decide what functionality they
implement and what not. Hence please keep this ticket as WONTFIX for the time

Is this actually a bug with lsearchd or is it a more general problem with the
opensearch implementation?

(To test, try using opensearch on a wiki with the new Cirrus search, such as
mw.org or enwikisource)

If it's a bug with lsearchd only I'm inclined to WONTFIX as we're hitting the
end of life for that. If Cirrus has the problem too then we'll need to fix it
wherever the problem is.

Logging stuff for this went out a long time ago. It's far from perfect, but has
allowed us to limp along. Along with other fixes, we're no longer waking up
every night trying to keep search from exploding.

I'm marking this FIXED, as enough's been done that we don't need to do anything
here at this point.

Cirrus/Elasticsearch has all kinds of new infrastructure with its own
monitoring and so forth so nothing here is really relevant anymore.

This might have been broken by 8049aa338451, which added the $this->getFile(

If just tried to import the Module/doc file

- exported from Wikipedia/en (This file: Module:HtmlBuilder/doc)
- tried to import to Wikivoyage/de

got this error:

"Import fehlgeschlagen: Can't save non-default content model with
$wgContentHandlerUseDB disabled: model is wikitext , default for
Modul:HtmlBuilder/doc is Scribunto"

When doing namespace database queries, some numeric namespace info is returned.
However, when it's fed back to any endpoint of MediaWiki (eg. index.php,
api.php), namespaces must be written in text form. It could be nice if we can
just write "100:Foo" as well in addition to "Portal:Foo", and I guess it could
solve must of needs of bug 48625.

If "100:Foo" is considered to clash a lot with existing titles, maybe we can
use "[100]:Foo" or something, though that means we need to change title
validation code in many places.

In the last few weeks my experience with the UploadWizard is bad. The upload
fails too often with 'Internal error: Could not determine if the copy
succeeded.'

If I retry the upload with the button 'Retry failed uploads' I am getting
'Unknown error: "stasherror"'.

This never works for me :-(

Indeed, our Squid config blocks OPTIONS requests. This is definitely
deliberate, with OPTIONS being explicitly singled out and seems to be there for
many years.
I'll ask around to find out the rationale behind it -- please do as well, Brion
might remember :) We need to find out soon anyway, since we're the Varnish
switch is imminent.

Like the new Title.newFromImg method a method to get the Title object for a
link or its href attribute would be very useful. Such a function would have to:
* Check that the link is a local link.
* Get the title either from the title parameter or from the path.
* Unescape it and create a title object.

Currently gadgets that need to determine the title for a given link mostly use
the title attribute of the link (and temporarily broke on bug 542, and
regularly break if other gadgets change the title, and don't work for missing
pages, which have a "page does not exist" in the title). Having a function that
takes care to get everything right would help very much in programming gadgets,
and would make bug 38598 comment 3 really true.
