If you understand the difference between plain text and data you will understand that this project is Wikipedia's Game-changer. Wikidata is one of the newest Wikimedia projects. It is not known and understood enough yet. Your task is to help change this by helping with the outreach efforts around Wikidata. How we're going to do this? Let's figure it out. Let's plan a social media campaign? Let's make documentation easier to find and understand? Let's showcase amazing things around Wikidata? Let's do some storytelling? [Bug 60017] Flow: Reference numbers in Parsoid output aren't superscripted
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60017 sp...@wikimedia.org changed: What|Removed |Added CC||gwi...@wikimedia.org Summary|Flow: Reference numbers |Flow: Reference numbers in |aren't super-scripted |Parsoid output aren't ||superscripted --- Comment #3 from sp...@wikimedia.org --- The pre-formatted div you mention in #comment 2 seems fixed on mediawiki. The lack of superscript may be because Parsoid doesn't run the ref tag through Extension:Cite/Cite.php – it doesn't use the PHP parser's hooks. But it clearly does something with the ref tag, turning it into a span class=reference containing a hyperlink with a counted element. If it's by design that Parsoid doesn't output a sup tag, then a workaround could be to include Parsoid-specific CSS matching the browser's built-in styling of sup i.e. span.reference { font-size: smaller; line-height: normal; vertical-align: super;} Some other glitches with reference tags: * The hyperlinks between the citation [1] and the reference are #citeANCHORNAME fragments, but because the Flow page includes a base href=/wiki/Talk:Sandbox (in order to make relative links work?), following the links when you're viewing this topic in isolation makes you leave the current page, and if it's scrolled off the Flow board the link won't work. This happens on http://parsoid.wmflabs.org/_wikitext/ , I'll file a separate bug. * Each post restarts its citation counters. It's technically illegal HTML to have two id=cite_note-1 in one document and it's undefined what hyperlinks using that as a fragment will do. So citations can never work correctly when the Flow board or single topic view shows more than one post using them, unless each Flow post provides an anchorPrefixParameter to Parsoid like '#flow-postId-flow-post-rn84j0djfcyxetu8-' , and Parsoid prepends that when generating id, name, and href attributes. [Bug 62691] New: Flow: Parsoid ref handling broken by base href tag

Wahoo! But Flow's includes/View.php outputs a base href=/wiki/Talk:Name_of_Flow_board tag. That turns the local href into a full URL to the Flow board. So if you view a single topic at its Permalink, then clicking the [1] or ↑ forces a page reload (unfortunate) and if the post is old and not part of the first 10 topics on the board, the fragment won't be on the page at all (bad). The comment in View.php before outputting a base href tag is Temporary hack to make relative links work when the page is requested as /w/index.php?title=. But nowadays links to pages and to images are no longer relative links, they are absolute paths like href=/wiki/Main_Page and src=//ee-flow.wmflabs.org/w/images/7/77/Cucurbita_moschata_Butternut_2012_G2.jpg. [Bug 59982] Adding level 2 warning, even if level 2 warning exists
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=59982 --- Comment #11 from Peter Bena benap...@gmail.com --- Problem here is that huggle doesn't see the talk page, before it post a message, it is mediawiki which merges the warning between the warnings of others. Only proper solution here would be to have mediawiki reject the message in case there was an edit to talk page so that huggle re-parse it, but I don't know if mediawiki can do that. Other workaround which isn't reliable, would be just to re-parse the talk page everytime before the warning is sent. This has 2 issues: It significantly worsen the performance and it isn't reliable because some user could in theory send a warning between the check and edit, there is also replication lag (reading page may return older version, while when you write to a page, you access the master sql server which contains the current version) I think this needs to be solved on mediawiki level -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Wikibugs-l mailing list Wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l

I just edited an unwatched item. On saving the star started to rotate. When the saving finished the star stops rotating and switched back to the white star instead to the blue star. When I reload the page the star was blue. So adding to the watch list by the POST request works but the GET request directly after saving for checking the watch status doesn't get the new state reliable. Maybe the GET request gets answered by a different server in comparison to the POST request and the state in the database was not updated yet. A more reliable solution is to integrate the changed state of the watch list into the response of the POST request. For comparison: The index.php also answers with the new state of the watch list state in the response. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Wikibugs-l mailing list Wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l

[Bug 38403] Sortable search results
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=38403 Daniel Naber misc2...@danielnaber.de changed: What|Removed |Added CC||misc2...@danielnaber.de --- Comment #5 from Daniel Naber misc2...@danielnaber.de --- (In reply to Nik Everett from comment #4) Would need some product/design team involvement mostly because sorting on anything other than score is likely to give the user garbage results. I don't see how sorting by date (i.e. last modified date) can give garbage results if the user explicitly chooses to sort by date. Similar for title and size. Technically, this should be easy to implement, as ElasticSearch should be able to sort on any field in the documents in its index. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
