The problem is, that the editor of the app can not handle this. The content is transcluded for readers, but when you try to edit a section in or after the transcluded content you get the false content (the content behind the section id of Wikipedia:München instead/without to look at Wikipedia:München/Corso_Leopold_2014.2) or a network error (because the section id doesn't exist in Wikipedia:München i think). That makes impossible to edit such pages correctly. I don't know, if there is a short solution for it, but maybe there is an idea of the developers? :) [1] https://de.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:M%C3%BCnchen source code https://de.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:M%C3%BCnchen&action=edit -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. In that popup there is a field "Script" in the section "Module properties". For a user using Gadgets 2.0 for the first time, it will not be clear what name should be typed there: * MediaWiki:Gadget-foo.js (incorrect - this is the naming convention from 1.0) * Gadget-foo.js (incorrect - this is the naming convention from 1.0) * Foo.js (correct, but the page needs to exist first, or it will be ignored!) * Gadget:Foo.js (incorrect - even if the page exists, it will be ignored) The only case where the autocomplete feature works is when [[Gadget:Foo.js]] exists and the user types (a substring of) "Foo.js". This is not very user friendly. Maybe there should be a placeholder as the default value, and a link to the namespace somewhere (to allow the user to find existing JS pages which can be used). I installed a wiki with both Semantic Forms and WikiEditor enabled. The main page contains a input box to create a new page using a form and a template: {{#forminput:form=Recept|button text=Skapa recept|placeholder=Vad heter ditt recept?}} If I do the following: - click to edit the page - click on the "Preview" tab in the WikiEditor - click publish Then instead of seeing the edited page, I see a page titled "Add a page through a form", just as if I clicked on the forminput button. And my edits are not saved. I have found that after enabling short urls the problem disappeared. [Bug 69747] Accessing bug 9444 via XML RPC API crashes due to invalid byte sequence: "not well-formed (invalid token)"
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=69747 --- Comment #3 from Andre Klapper --- [Mostly making comments here for myself.] One problem here is that we have not 200% identified which actual chars are offending, we only guess. Another problem is that I cannot easily create a local testcase. Workaround in https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=839023#c10 : Use $initial =~ s/([\x01-\x08\x0b\x0c\x0f-\x1f])/sprintf "\\x%02x", ord($1)/ge; http://perldoc.perl.org/perlebcdic.html#Quoted-Printable-encoding-and-decoding lists a similar example (also >x80 for stripping non-ascii entirely): $qp_string =~ s/([=\x00-\x1F\x80-\xFF])/sprintf("=%02X",ord($1))/ge; Above workaround is overkill though: if you replaced \x61 (letter: a) you'd end up with "Wrong/unsupported datatype 'boole\\x61n' specified" in the XMLRPC response. Hence slightly concerned about unwanted side effects, but above character range is nothing that should be used anyway. So I tested the two-liner hack with the less commonly used letter \xc4\x8d (letter: č) in some comments, and the char replacement worked as expected in the XMLRPC response. [Bug 69899] New: "Add linked wiki page to your book" when you hover a link interferes with screen readers.
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=69899 Bug ID: 69899 Summary: "Add linked wiki page to your book" when you hover a link interferes with screen readers. Product: MediaWiki extensions Version: master Hardware: All OS: All Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: Unprioritized Component: Collection Assignee: wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org Reporter: mitchell_ne...@hotmail.com CC: developm...@pediapress.com, marcin.cies...@gmail.com Web browser: --- Mobile Platform: --- When the create book is active, when a user hovers a link instead of getting the alt text for the link they get "Add linked wiki page to your book" This breaks good practice for accessibility for people with disabilities who use screen readers. They get this text read to them instead of the alt text for the links when navigating around the site. There needs to be a way to disable the "Add linked wiki page to your book" hover text.
