https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=73472 --- Comment #12 from Antoine hashar Musso (WMF) has...@free.fr --- I know about two reasons for the HHVM application servers on beta cluster fill /var/ : Bug 73262 - hhvm apache fills /var/log/apache2 with access logs They need to send their log to syslog (that would thus end up to the logstash instance) instead of writing to disk debug / access logs. Some bug I can't find which is that the HHVM coredump end up under /var/ as well when they should be saved to /data/project (since we care about) and garbage collected automatically (Bryan wrote a cron to handle that). The image can probably be very basic (perhaps even the same as for main labs, just plain Ubuntu Precise or Trusty), and instead use puppet to provision it. [Bug 73623] New: Inconsistent search results when combining list=search and generator=search
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=73623 Bug ID: 73623 Summary: Inconsistent search results when combining list=search and generator=search Product: MediaWiki Version: unspecified Hardware: All OS: All Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: Unprioritized Component: API Assignee: wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org Reporter: dbr...@wikimedia.org CC: bjor...@wikimedia.org, bryan.tongm...@gmail.com, roan.katt...@gmail.com, s...@reedyboy.net Web browser: --- Mobile Platform: --- Background: In our Mobile apps, we're implementing full-text searching when the user types a search term. The way we query the api is as follows: - We use prop=pageprops with generator=search to get the list of results, which also gives us the image thumbnail and Wikidata ID for each result, but this returns the results in the wrong order, so: - We combine the query with list=search, which should give the same set of results (albeit without thumbnails or Wikidata ID), but in the correct order. - We then correlate the data from the two lists (expecting both lists to contain the exact same items) to arrive at the full results in the correct order. For example, our query is something like this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:ApiSandbox#action=querylist=searchprop=pagepropsformat=jsonsrsearch=Baracksrnamespace=0srwhat=textsrinfo=suggestionsrlimit=12ppprop=wikibase_itemgenerator=searchgsrsearch=Barackgsrnamespace=0gsrwhat=textgsrprop=redirecttitlegsrlimit=12 However: The two sets of results often don't match up with each other -- there are sometimes one or more pages in one list that are not present in the other. What's even more strange, this doesn't happen every time: the lists might match up in one instance, and then be different in another (for the exact same query). For example, try executing the query linked above, and observe the last item in the returned pages array. 4 out of 5 times, the item will be There's No One as Irish as Barack O'Bama, but sometimes it becomes Statewide opinion polling for the United States presidential election, 2012, which is no longer consistent with the other list returned by list=search. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. [Bug 56602] Set languageLinkSiteGroup in $wgWBClientSettings to avoid fetching SiteList object from memcached
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56602 Aude aude.w...@gmail.com changed: What|Removed |Added CC||aude.w...@gmail.com --- Comment #19 from Aude aude.w...@gmail.com --- my patch (https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/c/174113/) ensures the memcached lookup of SiteList is confined to users with the other projects beta feature enabled. This should help quite a lot to reduce memcached access for the SiteList. the SiteList is used in similar functionality as the interwiki data, used to add links to related sister projects in the sidebar. to roll out the feature more widely, we should have local caching (json, like i18n?) of the site list data and may want to have memcached store the hash (like done for i18n), per Aaron's suggestion. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Wikibugs-l mailing list Wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l
