ULS is needed in Indian language Wikipedias by default. That will allow anyone to search Indian language Wikipedias without logging in. Webfonts may be made available by default. But I am not asking for it. Most people nowadays have one or the other font installed in the system and hence webfont may not be required by default. I, for example, use the system fonts that come in Windows. Do not include Malayalam wikis (ml.wikis - there was a clear consensus against ULS' webfonts when it was first deployed). Tamil wikis have a similar consensus in their wikis. It was like that till yesterday. From yesterday, ULS is available only after someone enables it from his/her preferences. Universal Language Selector has been disabled on 21-01-2014 to work out some performance issues that had affected the Wikimedia sites. Users who need it can enable it by following: User Preferences - Internationalisation - Check the ‘Enable the Universal Language Selector’.
