added connections between two of them (diplomatic relations, there are

Thanks, yes, that's a useful test-case! I think with the way the
algorithm proceeds it might not be trivial to address this, but we
understand the issue. Regarding there being a lot of diplomatic
relations, that's a second issue that we've discussed; we do think it
would be useful to somehow give the users the power to filter some of
the connections that are formed by relation type, for example. This
might come in a later iteration if there is sufficient interest in
further developing the tool. It would not be difficult in a technical
sense, but it's a question of how to do it in a usable way. :)

scientists/analysts I work with use Spark SQL engine and write HiveQL queries, 
often because `hive.run` is too slow. Occasionally I see dot notation for 
advanced PySpark usage (e.g. Morten's survey aggregation data pipeline 
).
  
  I suspect dot notation-based Spark usage is probably more common among 
software engineers.

This is not a priority for WMF, and will hardly be in the next
foreseeable future. So please stop referring to this possibility as a
viable option, since it's not, and mentioning it only creates more
confusion.

The scope of this thread should be to *actually help* Ms Lemaire
getting what she wants. Sorry for my bluntness, but throwing around
ideas that are not actionable by us is not helping anyone. Ms Lemaire
is evidently not very knowledgeable with the whole thing, and going
for theoretical fields will only confuse her more.

I do not know how to get the complete  url as required by google to suppress 
it. Their advice is to contact the webmaster of the site.

  I guess another question that I have and have been discussing with @Manuel a 
bit: is there a benefit to writing the spark queries in the Python dot notation 
(`data.select(col("subject").alias("schol_art_QID")...`, etc) vs. writing a 
multi line string and passing it to `wmfdata.spark.run`? I find a 
well-formatted multi line query to be much easier to read and explain to 
stakeholders, and in working a bit with the dot notation there doesn't seem to 
be much of a speed increase on it, but then it would be hard for me to judge 
this given commands are being run at times of different server loads.
  
  More generally, are most people at WMF writing spark with pythonically and 
not with queries? If there's need for code review I don't want to force people 
to read something they're not used to, but if there are folks who are writing 
queries and passing them to `spark.run` then I might join that camp  Happy to 
get used to it though if there's even a general benefit or preference :)

There might be a misunderstanding here. The "admin" in question are not the
administrators in the wiki / mediawiki sense, those elected by the
contributor’s community, but the admin at the system level.

Those who administrates the website and the machine, the WMF staff, might
perform the procedures that Google proposes to gain access to this Google

  I decided against the `wfDeprecated()` – I’m fairly sure all the paths that 
reach this code will have the `$options` populated with a default language 
already (because some other code called there, notably 
`FormatterLabelDescriptionLookupFactory::getLabelDescriptionLookup()`, also 
assume the options contain a language), and if CI passes that seems safe enough 
for me.

was wrong information that was given to you.

wikibase_rdf` will give a number greater than the number of triples stored in

  - shared values and references, this is very likely to have a high number of 
duplicates even if wikibase tries to deduplicate some on the fly while 
extracting the RDF dump
  - some metedata regarding sitelinks such as a triple like this: 
` wikibase:wikiGroup "wikipedia" .` are 
likely to be duplicated in the `wikibase_rdf` table. I forgot to mention them 
in the notebook.
  
  And to answer your question you are correct the number of distinct triples is 
what matters to us, so to get an accurate number you might have to 
`distinct(subject, predicate, object)` at some point, thanks!

both on desktop and mobile. Could MobileFrontend be changed so that feature #2
