[Wikidata] user script to show Wikidata changes in article history

2016-06-15 Thread Lydia Pintscher
Hey folks :)

H4stings has created a user script to show Wikidata changes in the history
of a Wikipedia article. (It should also work on the other sister projects.)
https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T42358#2363346
The script is at
https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Utilisateur:H4stings/wef-history.js
I'd love to hear your feedback on it so we can see if that is a direction
we should explore further.

Cheers
Lydia

Re: [Wikidata] user script to show Wikidata changes in article history

2016-06-16 Thread Jan Macura
Hi Lydia, all

This is very important tool for many wikipedians. It's great to see it rise!
Where can I report bugs? Here or through the Phabricator or directly to the
author H4stings?

Thanks
 Jan

Awesome! Best would be phabricator tickets but the rest also works.

Re: [Wikidata] user script to show Wikidata changes in article history

2016-06-27 Thread Sebastian Burgstaller
That's a great tool which will alleviate many of the concerns Wikipedians
have regarding Wikidata. I did a crude adaptation and translation to make
if work on the English Wikipedia. (did not find that somebody else had done
this already). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Sebotic/wef-history.js

In order to use it, just add importScript('User:Sebotic/wef-history.js');
to your common.js. Or just copy the whole thing.

Best,
Sebastian

2016-07-05 Thread Yellowcard
Hi Sebastian,

thanks for that. However, it doesn't seem to work to directly include
this script from other sister projects (I tried de.wikipedia) [1]. I see
a bubble saying "Affichage des modifications de Wikidata", but that is
what it stops with.

Is there anything that has to be changed for other language Wikipedias?

2016-07-06 Thread Sebastian Burgstaller
The problem with this script is that the date, time formats and
translations need to be adapted to each language individually, otherwise,
it will not work. I can do that for German as well and maybe translate the
whole script. I guess that a comprehensive solution is underway?

Re: [Wikidata] user script to show Wikidata changes in article history

2016-07-06 Thread Dan Michael O. Heggø

Here's a diff showing the changes I did when I ported it to no.wikipedia:

https://no.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Bruker%3ADanmichaelo%2Fwef-history.js&type=revision&diff=16491782&oldid=16491779

Note that

- date parsing will break if the user has chosen another language than
the default language of the wiki.

- without language fallback, we only get Q values when there's no label
in the wiki language.

- even with language filtering, I still perceive a lot of the edits as
"noise". I'm wondering if the different reference-statements could be
filtered out, since each addition of a statement and its reference gives
two edits. Another type of edit which is often noisy is wbeditentity
(like "bot: import label/alias from [[ja:ハマト・ガデル]]"), but since
this type of edit can contain anything I guess we need to keep it.
