ChristianKl added a comment. To brainstorm: There could be a button right next to "add citation" with the title "request citation". That button could bring up a dialog. That dialog asks provides choices: ① This conflicts with what I believe to be true. ② This statement conflicts with source X. ③ This statement warrants an authoritative reference. ④ This statement is slanderous. Afterwards there a box to alert people: By default it's filled with the person who made the statement. The user can add additional people to be alerted. Those people get alerted via the standard Wikimedia alert system. Finally there a button with [Create Citation Needed notice] Once the Citation Needed notice is created, other users who see the notice can add their votes to the choices of the dialog. This voting allows for easy user engagement.TASK DETAILhttps://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T139583EMAIL PREFERENCEShttps://phabricator.wikimedia.org/settings/panel/emailpreferences/To: ChristianKlCc: Thryduulf, T.seppelt, Jan_Dittrich, daniel, Pigsonthewing, Lydia_Pintscher, Mbch331, Aklapper, Zppix, ChristianKl, D3r1ck01, Izno, Wikidata-bugs, aude___ Wikidata-bugs mailing list Wikidata-bugs@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikidata-bugs

TASK DESCRIPTIONI am trying to get a script "upgraded" to gadget. Independent of that, the script could use a little polish. It creates statements, or new references for existing statements. However, I currently append a notice to the HTML, because I can't really spend a lot of time to figure out which JS to call to show the changes "properly". [Wikidata-bugs] [Maniphest] [Commented On] T112140: Provide a wrapper function in pywikibot around wbparsevalue
ArthurPSmith added a comment. @Multichill - could be, I'm not familiar with WbTime other than a glance at the code. Are there edge cases (eg. 10^20 years into the future?) that would break the "int/long" assumptions? But it definitely does NOT work for WbQuantity the way things currently are. Fixing WbQuantity seemed to be out of scope here, though it does need to be done. Coordinate may have similar issues as it uses floats. From pywikibot/page.py description of the Property class, the actual classes involved in the different object types are: ItemPage or PropertyPage basestring FilePage Coordinate WbTime WbQuantity WbMonolingualText The parser doesn't seem to do anything special for wikibase-item types; creating the object would I think involve another separate API query. It seems to me each case would need to be handled at least a little differently. One route would be a separate function to turn the parsed values into pywikibot objects - for example a special constructor for WbTime that takes the parsed values.TASK DETAILhttps://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T112140EMAIL PREFERENCEShttps://phabricator.wikimedia.org/settings/panel/emailpreferences/To: ArthurPSmithCc: Tobias1984, ArthurPSmith, Aklapper, pywikibot-bugs-list, Multichill, Mdupont, D3r1ck01, Izno, Wikidata-bugs, aude, jayvdb, Ricordisamoa, Mbch331___ Wikidata-bugs mailing list Wikidata-bugs@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikidata-bugs

Magnus added a comment. The five threads are for bot accounts only. Normal user accounts get single thread with delay. I have used my own bot account a lot over the years, with previous tools (also 5 threads) and PetScan, without issue. As far as I understand, GZWDer used (at least) two tabs running in parallel. Even if I reduce that to single thread, he could just open 10 tabs. [Wikidata-bugs] [Maniphest] [Commented On] T112140: Provide a wrapper function in pywikibot around wbparsevalue
ArthurPSmith added a comment. >>! In T112140#2435122, @Multichill wrote: The function should return an object. Possibilities seem to be commonsMedia, globe-coordinate, monolingualtext, quantity, string, time, url, external-id, wikibase-item, wikibase-property, math The parse API allows a list of values to be parsed (not just one at a time), and I have written the function to return a list of the parsed "objects" in the form of just the value (for strings) or a python dict with the keys and values supplied by the wbparsevalue api. In particular, parsing a list of quantity values returns a list of dicts with the keys 'amount', 'upperBound', 'lowerBound', and possibly other keys as provided by the API (for example it returns 'unit' with value '1'). Unfortunately, some existing pywikibot classes like WbQuantity or WbTime do not work for this because they use Decimal or long/int rather than string values (however it looks like WbMonolingualText could work). I thought making that change to the classes ought to be a separate step to providing access to the parse api.TASK DETAILhttps://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T112140EMAIL PREFERENCEShttps://phabricator.wikimedia.org/settings/panel/emailpreferences/To: ArthurPSmithCc: Tobias1984, ArthurPSmith, Aklapper, pywikibot-bugs-list, Multichill, Mdupont, D3r1ck01, Izno, Wikidata-bugs, aude, jayvdb, Ricordisamoa, Mbch331___ Wikidata-bugs mailing list Wikidata-bugs@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikidata-bugs

[Wikidata-bugs] [Maniphest] [Created] T139573: Simple html formatting within Wikidata labels
Oliv0 created this task.Oliv0 added projects: Wikidata, MediaWiki-extensions-WikibaseView, MediaWiki-extensions-WikibaseRepository.Herald added subscribers: Zppix, Aklapper. TASK DESCRIPTIONThis has been mentioned several times on the French WP, last time here: simple html formatting usually used in {{DISPLAYTITLE}} for article titles should be usable for Wikidata labels. For instance a superscript should have some way to be entered in the Wikidata interface, displayed as the title of the element and in its occurrences in other elements, and passed to Wikipedia for display ({{#property:}} or mw.wikibase.getEntity etc.) as . The problem is all languages which use things such as a superscript in the standard writing of some terms, for instance in French the numbering for royalty and nobility starts "Ier" (feminine "Ire") with the "er" ('re') part in superscript. Streets called "rue François Ier" always have a superscript "er" on the street sign and there is no other way to write it in French, "Ier" without a superscript would look like a non-existing name or word "ier". There have been isolated attempts to use for Wikidata labels the special Unicode characters for (phonetic) superscripts and even for (math) italics, but they are difficult to access and anyway their rendering is bad, since for instance the phonetic superscript series comes in several parts introduced in Unicode at different times and most navigators and systems use fonts that show some differences, like the superscript e and r not positioned at the same height., so this is not a solution.TASK DETAILhttps://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T139573EMAIL PREFERENCEShttps://phabricator.wikimedia.org/settings/panel/emailpreferences/To: Oliv0Cc: Aklapper, Zppix, Oliv0, D3r1ck01, Izno, Wikidata-bugs, aude, Mbch331___ Wikidata-bugs mailing list Wikidata-bugs@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikidata-bugs

[Wikidata-bugs] [Maniphest] [Created] T139571: add title attribute to non-custom-value signifier
Jan_Dittrich created this task.Jan_Dittrich added projects: Wikidata, WMDE-Design. TASK DESCRIPTIONIf the value type is set to a non-custom value, we should provide information of what "unknown" and "no value" mean. This can be done by adding a title attribute to the HTML element around the text. So if the text is set to "no value" the title/tooltip could read: "It is assumed that this value can't exists", or so.TASK DETAILhttps://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T139571EMAIL PREFERENCEShttps://phabricator.wikimedia.org/settings/panel/emailpreferences/To: Lydia_Pintscher, Jan_DittrichCc: Zppix, Aklapper, Incabell, Jan_Dittrich, D3r1ck01, Izno, Wikidata-bugs, aude, Lydia_Pintscher, Mbch331___ Wikidata-bugs mailing list Wikidata-bugs@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikidata-bugs
