Smalyshev added a comment. So, whenever RESTbase serves a URL, it has to know which key(s) to should put into the header. But restbase doesn't serve wikidata URLs, does it? I don't see a way to do any of this with the existing CdnCacheUpdate interface. Well, this interface and adjacent ones like getCacheableUrls() used in EntityDataRequestHandler.php are now being used when we wanted to purge all resource's dependent pages. Now we'll do it via xkeys, so I wonder how. Will we drop support for getCacheableUrls()? Replace it with some other API? we support only one kind of resource that things can depend on: page content, identified by a title I.e. the key would be page title? That works, but we'd need to define encoding - urlencodes, space vs. _, etc. (and I wonder if we need to also consider language variants here). daniel added a comment. Without looking at the code, it seems we should be able to do without Database::lockIsFree. It's nice to do a check first to avoid a more expensive attempt to acquire a lock if we already know that that is likely to fail, but in the end, all we need is an atomic way to try to grab a lock, and then know if we got it. One thing that is important in this context is how stale locks are handled. Does redis know if the owner of a lock has died? Or an orphaned lock stay around forever? thiemowmde added a comment. I created the one entry that shows up as a proof that it technically works. See https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q4115189. The special page is only useful on client wikis, but because wikidata.org is a client for itself the special page also shows up there. This is all intentional. There is a label for it only in French. French didn't appear in my Babel box. So I saw a list of empty labels in languages that I have in my Babel box, but no actual name anywhere. After I added French to my Babel box and refreshed the item page, the name appeared.
