aude added a comment. @Yurik Wikibase doesn't know about what properties there are but can handle things at the data type level. not sure I understand what you mean by per-value-type search. For now, we have .map and .tab, but eventually we might want to expand that list. I am already thinking of .tabheader, which would allow multiple .tab pages to use a shared header information page (this way all weather datasets don't have to store the header localizations in each one, instead storing it in just one shared page instead). subins2000 added a comment. Hey ! I've been trying to fix this for the past 3 hours and is in a zigzag. The string "name" is coming from a faraway class and I can't seem to translate it. I reached here, but is facing difficulty to what to do next. My plan is to modify DiffView.php by : Passing the context of EntityDiffVisualizer to DiffView And while generating the HTML, translate it. But this approach to me seems ugly. Esc3300 added a comment. Interesting point. I hadn't thought of it that way. Obviously, it's sounds somewhat optimistic that such consistency is achieved without any constraints. In theory, infoboxes could have had that too. I think we were already hammered by the monthly (not quarterly) ratings, but still, I think it should made possible to have annual population numbers available. As I understood ChangeOp is more (correct me if I'm wrong) Data Access Layer thingy and responsible for persistence: generate Summary and ensure that we won't get inconsistent data in DB. But in this case, I would say, we want to show a nice message to user that item id he entered in the field simply does not exist (or may be he entered something unparsable, then we can also tell him to check the input). You can't easily have multiple columns, you have to repeat the source references, and the whole thing does not scale well. I would not recommend to put more that 20 statements into a time series on a Wikidata item. Maybe 100 may. The storage format is not designed for this. We actually explicitly excluded this use case when we defined requirements for the storage layer. Just because we now have a nice hammer doesn't mean we should treat everything like a nail. I agree that we should make it easy to combine the new tabular data with wikidata. For example, the data set could declare which item it relates to, and which property each column represents. Esc3300 added a comment. Currently we already have tabular data at Wikidata, e.g. for population numbers and quarterly ELO ratings. These are fairly straight-forward: date value some qualifier about the type of value (optional or omitted) This for each item. Obviously, the same could be stored and retrieved from Commons, but still, it makes it much more complicated to compare values across items and it's not even certain that all values at Commons are stored in the same way. So we end up with a new infobox problems. The sole advantage could be that there is only one site involved .. Neither of those problems exists with the new tabular data sets on commons. Also note that we have said from the beginning that we explicitly do not want tabular data on Wikidata. Our model is not well suited for that kind of data. Tabular data needs a different approach. The commentary was negligible, though it probably had as much as when the original badges were set up. I would say that there is reduced knowledge (and use) of the badges in WSes and that is reflected in the quiescent discussion. The name, well I need it to represent digital documents at the WSes, how it is named and displayed in among all the other badges is not my decision, I see that as a broader community decision. It could be called "digital" or "digital documents" or some clear alternative. There is no current system usage of the term at enWS, nor to my knowledge at the broader WSes; it is an understood term/concept, and, presumably, readily translatable. For colour I said grey or blue , it just needs to be different. For other projects, well probably less important at this stage. There are already so many issues with the Wikisources getting functional interwikis due to editions <-> editions <-> editions <-> ... matters being unresolved, among other things. So I would see it as a lesser priority, though can progress simultaneously if desired. At enWS primarily I am looking to have this utilised to display for badged works through a yet to be created use of . There is no current means to indicate digital documents in a schema that has its heart file scans and proofreading, and these works will not need traditional proofreading. So I see something along the lines of a modification to our header template that where it detects a work badged as "digital" to display the designated iconography for that type of work. The other alternative is to add a LanguageCe class that overrides the commaList function, which might be more appropriate if Chechen is the only language known to require this feature. (But I suspect that is not the case.) Or we can ask for suggestions from CLDR/AMP/IANA/IETF/...?
