Yurik created this task.Yurik added a project: Wikidata-Query-Service.Herald added a subscriber: Aklapper.Herald added projects: Wikidata, Discovery. TASK DESCRIPTIONWhile not fully ready for MediaWiki, I suspect it may make sense to migrate Wikidata Query GUI to the modern standards. The code will be significantly cleaner, more readable, much shorter, and more reusable by 3rd parties. More volunteers will be excited to work on it too (the coolness factor!). But first, we need to establish if it is OK: could someone with logs access please check the percentage of the non-modern browsers accessing WDQS in the past month? Judging by ES6+ support matrix, Chrome 47+, Firefox 55, Edge, and Safari have been supporting features such as import/module, class, Promise/async/await, and const/let for a long time, so it may be a very good opportunity to migrate without relying on hacks like Babel. Yair_rand created this task.Yair_rand added a project: Wikidata-Query-Service.Herald added a subscriber: Aklapper.Herald added projects: Wikidata, Discovery. TASK DESCRIPTIONIn graph view, nodes are connected to each other by directional arrows, which makes it not so suitable for bidirectional/direction-less relationships. Sometimes this can be worked around be having duplicate arrows going in both directions, but it would be better if there could just be an option to remove the arrowhead for any particular link, or have arrowheads on both sides.TASK DETAILhttps://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T174304EMAIL PREFERENCEShttps://phabricator.wikimedia.org/settings/panel/emailpreferences/To: Yair_randCc: Yair_rand, Aklapper, GoranSMilovanovic, QZanden, EBjune, merbst, Avner, debt, Gehel, Jonas, FloNight, Xmlizer, Izno, jkroll, Smalyshev, Wikidata-bugs, Jdouglas, aude, Tobias1984, Manybubbles, Mbch331___ Wikidata-bugs mailing list Wikidata-bugs@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikidata-bugs
[Wikidata-bugs] [Maniphest] [Created] T174298: Figure out a way for WDQS example parsing not rely on parsoid
Yurik created this task.Yurik added a project: Wikidata-Query-Service.Herald added a subscriber: Aklapper.Herald added projects: Wikidata, Discovery. TASK DESCRIPTIONI'm not sure yet how to do this. At the moment, WDQS examples list is initialized from an XHR request to parsoid api (which for some reason happens on page load, not when the user clicks "examples" button - a bit of a waste here). This limits its usefulness because mediawiki is installed far wider than parsoid. It would be great if examples could be retrieved from the regular api.php endpoint.TASK DETAILhttps://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T174298EMAIL PREFERENCEShttps://phabricator.wikimedia.org/settings/panel/emailpreferences/To: YurikCc: Wikidata-Query-Service, Aklapper, Yurik, GoranSMilovanovic, QZanden, EBjune, merbst, Avner, debt, Gehel, Jonas, FloNight, Xmlizer, Izno, jkroll, Smalyshev, Wikidata-bugs, Jdouglas, aude, Tobias1984, Manybubbles, Mbch331___ Wikidata-bugs mailing list Wikidata-bugs@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikidata-bugs

Yurik added a comment. Further reading into the code: if ( location.hostname !== 'query.wikidata.org' ) { return;// only track on wikidata.org } it might make sense to do it just once during initialization - and replace track() with a noop function.
