ChristianKl added a comment. I'm of the opinion, that it's not our role of Wikidata to create pseudo-fake websites. In most of the relevant cases it would make sense to actually have real websites. The langcom policy that prevents the creation of those sites is the core problem and a meta RfC to change it would be the best way forward. C933103 already started a draft for the RfC. TASK DESCRIPTIONCurrently, if an entry is inserted into the recentchanges table for a username that could exist but does not, it will be inserted with rc_user 0 and rc_user_text being the username. Wikibase inserts such recentchanges entries. Per T167246, that is not going to work in the future. Instead, the recentchanges table will have an rc_actor column referring to the actor table. The actor table will only contain entries for local users that actually exist and for things like IP users and interwiki usernames (see T179832) that cannot exist as a local user. I can think of three ways to fix this situation: Have Wikibase always use interwiki usernames for these recentchanges entries. Have Wikibase detect whether the local user exists and is attached to the SUL account on both the client and repo wikis, and use interwiki usernames if the named user doesn't exist. Have Wikibase somehow autocreate the local user if it doesn't exist, assuming these RC entries are only inserted on client wikis sharing SUL with the repo wiki. You'd probably still need a fallback to interwiki usernames in case autocreation fails. #1 would probably be the easiest, although #2 is pretty easy too using core's CentralIdLookup class. For #3 you might reuse the 'ImportHandleUnknownUser' hook. More specifically, as pointed out in T179849: Cache all constraint check results per-entity: “commons link”, “type”, “value type”, and “unique value” results are always potentially stale (and the response we send should indicate that, see T179844); results for all other constraint types will be known to be fresh if we set up correct purging. (This means that for most constraint types, we don’t need to show the user “this result may be stale”.) (The “correct purging” is T182104: Track entities to consider when checking whether cached constraint check result is valid, and yes, we’ve set it up.) TASK DESCRIPTIONAs per T170673: Make ChangeOps define required permissions, ChangeOps expose the permissions (actions) they require, but we do not always check them. In particular, Statement-related API modules like wbsetclaim, wbsetclaimvalue, wbsetqualifier, and wbsetreference do not check the actions declared by the respective ChangeOp. Only the generic checks for edit permissions are performed by EditEntity::checkEditPermissions(). Other API modules do this: ModifyEntity::checkPermissions covers the term-related API modules as well as wbsetsitelink and the generic wbeditentity API module. Note that this is presently not a problem in practice, since we currently do not have special permissions defined for modifying Statements.
