TASK DESCRIPTIONWe are using custom classes to communicate with Wikibase API for testing. However, WikidataToolkit already has APIs doing what we need. We may want to consider switching to using those classes for tests, so we do not have to maintain that code.

TASK DESCRIPTIONI developed a tool called Multisearch that allows you to input a list of titles (50 max) with a wiki project and get back a link to the page (if it exists) and the QID of the Wikidata item:

This tool is useful when you're matching datasets and you want to quickly get pages and QID's for a list of titles (think street names, personal names, cities, etc.)

Unfortunately for Wikidata it doesn't quite work. The API call i use doesn't work for Wikidata because entities are not pages. I think there are probably two API methods, but both are not sufficient. wbsearchentities can only query one thing at a time. wbgetentities has an option to query multiple labels, but you need to specify sites, which makes it effectively the same as querying a Wikipedia instance (and hence, not useful).

TASK DESCRIPTIONWrite statements with their qualifiers into the cirrus search index

Each statement should be stored without qualifiers, and then separately with each qualifier

For example, on wikidata the Mona Lisa has the statement 'depicts woman' P180=Q467 and the statement 'depicts sky' P180=Q527 with the qualifiers 'applies to part background' P518=Q13217555 and 'color green' P462=Q3133.

We propose to store these in statement_keywords as follows:

In this way the user will be able to search using the haswbstatement keyword. TASK DESCRIPTIONIt should be set so things like persistent settings and OAuth work correctly.

We could grep it from the generated LocalSettings and preserve it. This is good because it will be random for different installations.

Alternatively we can set it to a static non-secret value and allow users to overwrite at their discretion (as an environment variable). This has the advantage that if users bring down the wikibase container and start it up again then the configurations they have made in OAuth consumers and the cookies their browsers have will still be valid.

I was correct on this. Setting $wgSecretKey has got us one step further.

I'm now tracking down why there are php warnings returned in some calls to QuickStatements api.php despite the fact that php error_reporting = 0, display_errors = off etc.

For example:

TASK DESCRIPTIONContext: interwikilinks of Wiktionary (except main namespace) are stored in Wikidata and automatically displayed on Wiktionary pages. On a Wiktionary page, when links already exist, there's a link "Edit links" that links to Wikidata, where people can edit the interwikilinks.

It would be great to have another action link, "Add a link", that would open a pop-up so people can enter a new link (language and title) directly from a Wiktionary page. This feature is already present in the case where the Wikidata item exists but no interwikilink exists yet.

Examples:

On Wiktionary:Tea_room, several links exist. The link "Edit links" goes directly to Wikidata
On Wiktionary:Tea_room/2018/March, the Wikidata item exists but no link has been entered. The link "Add links" opens a pop-up and the whole process takes place on Wiktionary. That's what we would like to have as well for the first example.
