  Having to many selenium tests is an anti-pattern. If anything could be tested 
with a different test (unit, api...) it should not be a selenium test.
  
  Having a subset of stable tests running daily and passing is better than 
having all tests running and failing. There are examples in core on how to do 
it.
  
  In package.json 

 update `selenium-daily` to only run tests marked `@daily`.

  I know in the old ruby browser tests we could mark different browser tests to 
be for beta or CI only. I think it makes sense here if possible. I haven't 
looked into it yet.

  On another note: Looking at this today and comparing with other repositories 
the second AC of this task is looking more and more tasty. Why are there so 
many browser tests in Lexeme, can't we just get rid of some of them(or at least 
mark them as skipped when running against beta and keep them if they serve a 
purpose in CI)?

  In an attempt to un-stall this I've spent some time today trying running this 
locally against beta and it's reminding me a bit of playing the lottery.
  
  With or without the new 7.4.6 version it still randomly fails on every run, 
the full suite did not pass one time. I don't think an upgrade will be the 
magic bullet here.
  
  I tried bumping the timeouts because it's currently set to 5000 ms for the 
`waitForTimeout` and 60 seconds for a single test, that seems a bit optimistic 
atleast for the `waitForTimeout`

waitforTimeout: 20 * 1000,
  
  This resolved some of the flakyness but still other tests were failing left 
and right. At two occations the site didn't even respond which could just be my 
connection being crap but doesn't instill a lot of confidence.

  This is kind of messed up:
  
  - Repo’s `changesDatabase` setting defaults to `false`.
  - We don’t configure it in mediawiki-config, so it’s `false` in production.
  - `dispatchChanges.php` takes that setting and creates a 
`JobQueueChangeNotificationSender` with it.
  - `JobQueueChangeNotificationSender` passes the value as the `'repo'` param 
into the `ChangeNotification` jobs it creates.
  - In `ChangeNotificationJob` – now in client! – the `'repo'` is therefore 
`false`, which would usually mean the local database.
  - However, as far as I can tell, the `'repo'` parameter isn’t actually used 
anywhere. Which is good, because by this point it would refer to the client 
wiki’s database, not the repo one!
  
  If it’s true that this `'repo'` job parameter isn’t used, we should just get 
rid of it completely. However, we need to be careful: repo and client might be 
on different train versions, so repo still needs to set the job parameter for 
at least one train after client stops requiring it.
  
  (Meanwhile, client’s own `changesDatabase` setting is never used at all.)

  Yeah, I think the relationship between tasks on Phabricator and changes on 
Gerrit is pretty fuzzy right now. But the important thing is, we have changes 
on Gerrit that achieve removals of these settings and pass in CI, so we’re 
getting there, one way or another. And with the last set of changes, this 
becomes doable as well, so I’ll pick it up.

  so this is fixed from wikibase point of view but we need to come to a 
decision to either merged the fix patch or fully deprecate using unix for 
expiry.

change the current behavior here: Let's continue to parse negative dates as is

  Given that I wouldn’t describe WikibaseDataModelTypes 
 as a huge success so far, 
extracting another library without a clear use case doesn’t seem so appealing 
anymore. Let’s decline this for now. If any other project we work on wants to 
reuse some of the code, //then// we can consider extracting something.

  We need to watch out that link tables etc. are still populated even when we 
don’t generate HTML. (So if I remember the interfaces correctly, we still need 
to generate //`ParserOutput`// with all its metadata, just without HTML inside 
it.)

  It turns out the pull request introduces some changes that may not be wanted. 
Currently (since Partial support for thousands separators in DateTimeParsers 
), we 
allow thousands separators in BC dates, under the assumption that “negative 
dates usually don’t have a month”. So you currently get the following parses 
(API request 
):
  
  - 1 BC: -0001-00-00T00:00:00Z, precision 9
  - 10 BC: -0010-00-00T00:00:00Z, precision 9
  - 100 BC: -0100-00-00T00:00:00Z, precision 9
  - 1 000 BC: -1000-00-00T00:00:00Z, precision 9
  - 10 000 BC: -1-00-00T00:00:00Z, precision 5
  - 100 000 BC: -10-00-00T00:00:00Z, precision 4
  - 1 000 000 BC: -100-00-00T00:00:00Z, precision 3
  - 10 000 000 BC: -1000-00-00T00:00:00Z, precision 2
  
  (The precision jumps because we “default to year precision for range 4000 BC 
to 4000” in `IsoTimestampParser::getPrecisionFromYear()`.)
  
  With the change to the `YearMonthTimeParser`, you instead get:

TASK DESCRIPTION
  The WikibaseClient `repoNamespaces` setting hasn’t been used in Wikibase 
since T153769 , and it doesn’t 
really work in a federated world. Its default is also based on the 
`entityNamespaces` setting, which means we need to do //something// about this 
setting before we can fully remove `entityNamespaces` (T285472 
). I think we should just remove it.
  
  Unhappily, while Wikibase no longer uses the setting, it is still used in the 
Math extension, to build URLs to items. We should probably just change this to 
use `Special:Entitypage`, as was done for Wikibase in T153769 
.

  So, after reviewing the docs (and the code we wrote so far) a bit more, it 
seems like the general recommendation is to focus more on "Feature" tests 
rather than on unit tests. As we didn't really create any library style classes 
that don't directly rely on the request lifecycle, it seems that focusing more 
on HTTP testing is the way to go. Thanks, @Silvan_WMDE for the heads-up.
