  It's certainly be possible to do this, given the data returned by Citoid, but 
I'm wondering if this is reliable enough for an unsupervised process. For 
example, adding a reference while editing gives the user a change to check that 
the title, author, date etc. are correct and what they want, before they save 
the data. If a bot comes along later, finds a bare Reference URL, and fills in 
the missing data, there doesn't seem to be any process by which the user can 
easily confirm that it's correct. This feels like it might be a concern, but it 
didn't come up during the Wishlist Survey, so perhaps I'm misunderstanding 
things.
  
  It seems to me that the first thing is to find out if anyone else is working 
on the while-editing tool: there's a 'Manual' tab in the references section on 
Test Wikidata, which looks like it's meant to have an 'Automatic' section next 
to it... but I guess it's not functioning yet (the code 

 looks like it's missing any other tab, and it doesn't look like 
`$wbRefTabsEnabled` is configurable)? So maybe we could help with that work, if 
it's been stalled?

  Yes I understand. But if it's a patch in cldr then there are other people to 
review those or if my team is supposed to review it then it needs to go through 
a process and can't bypass it like the regular language code patches. Those get 
fast-tracked because they are very small and predictable and don't need 
internal discussion anymore at that point.

  I see, even though the patch is to LocalNames file, not the CLDR import file 
directly. As other language code patches, it is small, predictable (at least 
from my POV) and similar to the usual patches.
  
  - Do we know who at WMF is to review these? one or the other of these patches 
seemed to linger for years.
  - Is there a way to grant @Mbch331 the necessary rights ?

  There are several reviewers already added to the patches, so yeah that should 
be fine. If not we'll have a look.

  But it won't change anything really because self-merging patches is generally

the Mismatch Finder in Wikidata. We will be asking people to make the change on

  I think this is an old issue (though I haven’t found an existing Phabricator 
task for it): we only expect item IDs after `wd:`, not property IDs. (Lexeme 
IDs don’t really work either, as far as I can tell.) I assume Q17022033 has 
`P2013` somewhere in its aliases.

TASK DESCRIPTION
  As a maintainer of the wdqs streaming updater I want to understand why the 
checkpoint _metadata file has grown to 70m (which requires bumping flink memory 
limits) so that I can prevent it from happening again.
  
  The flink application died around `2021-07-17T13:20:00` time at which a 
switch in row A (codfw) died.
  
  It is unclear if the growth of the _metadata file size is related to the 
failure or if it prevented the restart of the pipeline (default 
`akka.framesize` too small)
  
  A copy of the checkpoint _metadata file has been kept in 
`stat1004:/home/dcausse/flink-1.12.1-wdqs/wdqs_streaming_updater/checkpoints/b4d1cd3eb1ab4002a63b7c229a8c3542/chk-140815`)
  
  The pipeline was able to restart after tuning `akka.framesize` to 100Mb and 
giving more heap.
  A savepoint was then taken but created  a metadata file even bigger (800Mb). 
It's available at 
`swift://updater.thanos-swift/wdqs_streaming_updater/savepoints/savepoint-f6a960-fdd300f4e05b`.

data"). If it's not accuracy-focused, an entirely automatic process might 
indeed be problematic, and we might want to implement option 1 or 3 instead.

  Picking up from the IRC conversation yesterday @RLazarus figured that the 
response body looks like it is

  At the time this issue was opened (June 21) we did had some database issues, 
so increased rate of 503's from apiservers are most likely due to that.
  
  Looking at the last two weeks the picture has changed from June to now with 
only a hand full of requests failing for cxserver in the last two weeks, most 
of them due to upstream connection failure ("UF" in response flags field). 
Those errors might happen from time to time due to the service-proxy creating 
persistent connections which then might get closed server side or due some 
network issues. But as that is happening at a very low rate, we did not dig 
more into that by now.

parser being able to process queries with the 'mwapi' prefix (it represents 10% 
of all requests) - otherwise this task can be closed.

  I understand that simply adding the prefix declarations to the jena parsing 
context will suffice to parse them? If yes I think this is worthwhile.
  If you mean improving the AST extraction to better understand how the mwapi 
is being used I think this might be too early to invest some time in this but 
certainly something interesting to look into later.

  It should be able to delete those files now. I noticed the stats for

 were wrong. They are correct now after purging. I purged everything for 
`en-gb` just to be sure. So expecting it to be removed in the next export.

  @Lydia_Pintscher, I just tested it and it's still happening in production 
right now. I connected this article 
 to its  Wikidata 
entity , but even if the rendering of 
the page changed to reflect that the IMDb ID of the template parameter is the 
same as the one of the Wikidata entity it's still displayed  in the category 
that tracks the mismatch of  identifiers 
.
  
  There's no change linked to the task, so I assume that there's nothing 
pending to land in production and that when you added the #TestMe 
 project you were requesting 
confirmation of this problem still happening in production.

  When I wrote this task I was mainly thinking about the special pages that 
//edit// entities – SetLabel, SetDescription, SetAliases, 
SetLabelDescriptionAliases, and SetSiteLink – but of course we also have 
special pages that //create// entities: NewItem, NewProperty, and NewLexeme. 
@Manuel should the new tag also affect those?
  
  (Tech note: `SpecialNewLexeme`, unlike `SpecialNewItem` and 
`SpecialNewProperty`, doesn’t inherit from `SpecialNewEntity`, so that’ll have 
to be implemented separately.)

  To explain my changes on July 2: I think Nikki was right to point out that 
"mix-x-und" isn't appropriate, as it would have been a subgroup of "mix" and 
not of Mixtec languages. As jhsoby mentioned "mix" is just for "Mixtepec 
Mixtec", not any Mixtec language. There are dozens of other three-letter codes 
for these. All Mixtec languages seem to be included in "Oto-Manguean languages" 
("omq"), thus the request for "omq-x-mixtec" ("undetermined Mixtec language"). 
We could use "mis" (because we haven't created the code) or "und" (because the 
exact code is undetermined) for the same, but a distinct code might make it 
easier to handle them later on. The "-x-" sequence introduces a use specific to 
Wikibase/WMF.
  
  From a practical side, given that it may be a continuum of languages and the 
classification into dozens of codes may not be entirely certain nor stable, it 
might not be easy or useful to determine the current code for a Mixtec name (or 
other word). As the new code in Wikibase/MW is to start collecting names with 
monolingual text properties, we don't really know beforehand how many there 
will be.
  
  I don't think either code should be made available for labels. If you want to 
create the code "mix" for "Mixtepec Mixtec" as well, I don't mind.
