TASK DESCRIPTION

When you write the label of an existing property to add a new statement in a Wikidata item, suggestions don't work, or don't work as expected, if you:

  • add one or more spaces to the beginning of the text, or
  • add multiple spaces between two words (because labels and aliases only use a space between words).

It's common in some inexperienced people to write multiple spaces between words without noticing it, and also to introduce spaces at the beginning when copying and pasting from a rendered HTML document (for example, from another Wikidata item).

Spaces at the beginning should be ignored and multiple spaces between words should be considered as a single one when showing suggestions.
